4Malfunctions

Warning messages and fault messages:

–Various faults are displayed on screen in the form of indicator lights or symbols (see chapter “Control and operating elements”).

–Warning functions can also be supported acoustically (buzzer).

Identifying and rectifying faults and errors:

–Faults can very often be traced back to incorrect operating or maintenance of the machine.

For each fault, therefore, read the relevant chapter in the operating instructions carefully once more.

–Analyse the cause of the fault and rectify it immediately.

–Describe the fault and all accompanying circumstances as precisely as possible if you contact LIEBHERR customer service. Precise information makes it possible to find and rectify the cause of the fault quickly. Additionally, therefore, precise information on the type and serial number of the machine is also required.

–Do not carry out any work which you have not been trained to do.

If the cause of the fault cannot be recognised or rectified using the error codes and fault charts, please consult LIEBHERR customer service.

4.1Error code list

Danger!

When switching over to emergency operation, the speed can no longer be changed using the arrow keys on the monitoring screen. The servo control, parking brake and swing gear brake can no longer be activated.

Please also note the subheading “Emergency operations” in the chapter “Operating the machine” in this regard.

These error codes will not be displayed in the EC field of the operator’s menu. They can only be read off the S-Exxx menu list. See chapter 3 "Main screen".

The error codes shown on the display of the control panel facilitate troubleshooting of the heating and air-conditioning system. The error codes listed below indicate faults or errors at specific components in the control and operating circuit of the heating and air-conditioning system.

Error code "F0": fault at room temperature sensor:

The control system has detected a fault at the room temperature sensor, and regulation is disabled.

Cause of fault: Short circuit, sensor cable break, loose connection at sensor or control unit, temperature sensor defective.

Eliminate the fault. The sensor is again ready for operation, and the error code disappears.

After a fault, the regulator is operated with the settings as entered before the fault.

Error

code "F1": fault at blow-out temperature sensor:

The control system has detected a fault at the blow-out temperature sensor, and regulation is disabled.

Cause of sensor fault: Short circuit, sensor cable break, loose connection at sensor or control unit, temperature sensor defective.

Eliminate the fault. The sensor is again ready for operation, and the error code disappears.

After a sensor fault, the regulator is operated with the settings as entered before the fault.

Error code "F2": fault at reserve temperature sensor:

The control system has detected a fault at the reserve temperature sensor, and regulation is disabled.

Cause of fault: Short circuit, sensor cable break, loose connection at sensor or control unit, temperature sensor defective.

Eliminate the fault. The sensor is again ready for operation, and the error code disappears.

After a sensor fault, the regulator is operated with the settings as entered before the fault.

Error code "F3": fault at legroom/windscreen ventilation flap:

The control system has detected a fault at the legroom/windscreen ventilation flap. Regulation remains operational.

Cause of fault: Short circuit, cable break, loose connection at the ventilation flap motor or control unit, flap motor defective.

Eliminate the fault. The error code disappears. In the event of a flap fault, the regulator continues working as normal, although the centre position of the air flap cannot be used.

Error code "F4": pressure fault / fault at magnetic clutch:

The control unit has detected a fault at the pressure switch or the magnetic clutch.

Cause of fault: Short circuit, cable break to magnetic clutch, loose connection at the clutch or control unit, overpressure or underpressure (insufficient refrigerant) in cooling circuit of the a/c system.

Eliminate the fault. The error code disappears.

The regulator is not affected by a pressure fault / magnetic clutch fault, and only the magnetic clutch output is interrupted.

Error code "F5": data transmission fault between control panel and control unit: copyright by

The data transfer from the control panel to the control unit interrupted.

Cause of fault: Short circuit or cable break in the data line to the control unit, loose connection at the control panel or control unit.

The control panel repeatedly attempts to establish a data connection to the control unit. Eliminate the error. The error code "F5" disappears. If data communication cannot be re-established, switch off the ignition and switch it on again to reset the system.
