THE MAIN CONCERN OF BS-III ENGINES TOWARDS THE CAUSE OF

(i)CO (carbon Monoxide)

(ii)PM(particulate Matter)

(iii)HC(Hydrocarbon) REDUCTION

THE MAIN CONCERN OF BS-III ENGINES

In one hand , we need to reduce the limit of CO, HC, PM on the other the emission of Nox is required to be reduced

For reducing the emission limit of CO, HC & PM and keeping the power output to the expected result, the changes that have been done are i. Changes in the type of the Piston ii.Introduction of Rotary fuel pump iii.Changing the bumping clearance iv. Replacing the “S” type nozzle with “P” type nozzle v. “K” factor is utilized in the nozzle

The Main Changes

Change in Piston:

Re-entrant type of piston bowl

•The re-entrant type piston bowl arrangement provides swirling motion to in coming air

•This action allows the swirled air to mix optimally with injected fuel resulting into optimization of burning with desired emission level
