13.9Winter storage suggestions

1.Clean all contamination from the maize header. 2.Clean off grease and dust from the exterior of all bearings. 3.Drain oil from the gearboxes and fill to the specified level with new oil. 4.Lubricate all lubrication points thoroughly until the grease comes out of the bearings (see Lubrication

Chart, page90). Run the maize header for a short period. 5.Check maize header for wear and damage and repair it. 6.Remove any rust and re-paint damaged paintwork. 7.Store the maize header in a dry, weather-proof building where no synthetic fertiliser is stored.
