3 Preface OF SPECIAL IMPORTANCE Note that in the following chapters the CLAAS “DIRECT DISC” cutter unit is also referred to as the front attachment. The instructions in this operator's manual must be read carefully and followed by all persons concerned with the operation, maintenance, repair or inspection of this front attachment in order to prevent accidents. Some safety guards and covers have been removed for illustration in this manual. All safety shields and covers must be attached before the front attachment is put into operation. In particular, read the sections “Safety rules” and “Prior to operation” in the operater's manual CLAAS JAGUAR 900, 890, 870, 850, 830. The use of spare parts, accessories and additional equipment which is not originally manufactured, and checked and released by CLAAS can have negative effects on specific design features of the CLAAS machine or on its operability, and thereby impair active and/or passive operating safety, as well as safety at work (accident prevention). CLAAS will in no way be liable for damage or personal injury caused by the use of parts, accessories and additional equipment that are not original CLAAS. Technical specifications, dimensions and weights are understood with appropriate tolerances. Front, rear, right and left refer to the direction of travel.
