Operating Data Display

The version display is automatically followed by the error display. Provided no keys are pressed, the error display remains active for the whole time the SLC is active.

Error-free condition display Active error display

Apart from the ‘no error’ display, a ‘>’ character moves from left to right in the second text line. This moving display indicates that the steering computer is active and the software is being processed. When the steering computer identifi es an error, the display changes to show the error code. All three individual codes (error location, type, priority) of the error are displayed. If there are several errors present simultaneously, the display automatically changes after 2,5 seconds to the next error. Once all the errors have been rectifi ed, the display is restored to the error-free condition (see Error-free condition display).

Hardware Error Display Faulty Parameter Display

The steering electronics distinguishes between steering system errors and hardware errors. Steering system errors are 3 digit (e.g. “06,02,03”, DA2 - wire breakage) and are entered accordingly in the error log. Hardware errors are shown on the display as U errors (e.g. “U202”) and are stored in the error log as 3 digits (e.g. “239,202,03”, DA2 - short circuit).

When a U error is shown on the display the corresponding error meaning can be found in the error list under error location “239” and the U error code as the error type.

A U error does not necessarily indicate a hardware fault; external short circuits and other infl uences can result in these errors. It is important to attempt to remove the point in question (e.g. unplug a digital output) and re-start. For each parameter the software specifi es a minimum and maximum value. If the value stored in the EEPROM is not within this permissible range, the faulty parameter is shown on the display. The error can only be deleted by setting the displayed parameter to the correct value. The parameter list contains the parameter ranges.

Operating Data Display

The operating data display is activated by pressing ENTER. The display changes from the error display to the operating data display. Press ESCAPE to quit the operating data display and return to the error display.

If no key is pressed for 5 minutes in the operating data display, it automatically switches back to the error display. The operating data display has 13 display windows for the steering system and another 8 for the operating hydraulics. You can select the display windows using the PLUS and MINUS keys.

Steering Potentiometer Display

Displays the current steering potentiometer with its x and y coordinates.

Steering Setpoint Display

Displays the current steering setpoint in degrees with a prefi x. It displays the steering setpoint produced from the evaluation of the programmed steering setpoint device. With a steering wheel, the steering setpoint in the steering computer is generated from the impulses read. The second line shows the internal steering setpoint cushioned with a ramp. This value serves as the basis for the steering calculation.

Proportional Valve Modulation

Modulation of the proportional valves for valve coils A and B in percentage. It shows the setpoint for the motor driver ranging from 0 to 100%. 100% corresponds to an output voltage of +24 V.

Nominal and Actual Position of the Axles

The nominal and actual angle of the various axles are shown next to each other. The unit for nominal and actual values is degrees.

Maximum Steering Deviation

This shows the maximum deviation in degrees together with the axle and the displayed deviation. The maximum steering deviation determines the error control of the steering computer. The steering deviation reading can be deleted by pressing ENTER.

Truck Speed

Displays the established, fi ltered truck speed. Steering responses are derived on the basis of this speed.

Current Sensor Speed

Displays the currently established, unfi ltered speeds. Both signals are fi ltered and checked for plausibility.
