The conveyor push will follow the shield advance as shown in the picture below. Bidirectional Cutting Cycle – Step 5 – Cut Back to Snake
When all of the shields have been advanced, the push will come closer to shearer to ensure that the pan is pushed straight as soon as possible. Bidirectional Cutting Cycle – Step 6 – Ready to Double Cut TG
The shearer can now cut back into the tailgate as shown below. Bidirectional Cutting Cycle – Step 7 – Shearer in TG
The system is now ready for the shearer to cut back to the headgate. This the same position as Step 1 shown above except it is reversed: the shearer is in the TG instead of in the HG.
