BMA Shield PMC-R Operating Manual
Initiate an auto sequence (Shield advance) WARNING Mine safety procedures in regards to shield movement MUST be observed.
This function is in the event that an SRB is not operational or a shield requires advancing ahead of the SRB sequence. It is an automatic function that is manually initiated and controlled by PMC-R system.

The Shield can be stopped anytime by pressing the
key.
NOTICE If PPD is switched on adjacent ASQ’s must be carried out using remote Distance.
NOTICE ASQ’s will abort if the Rear Conveyor cylinder in the local shield has not been previously advanced.
It is possible to see if the rear conveyor pull target has been reached since the last ASQ by checking the state of the LED on the
key.
If the LED is ON then the rear conveyor ram has successfully retracted to the target ram stroke in the local shield since the last ASQ. This is also true in even numbered shields which have calculated ram strokes. If the LED is OFF then the rear conveyor has not successfully advanced since the last ASQ.
