This chapter provides vital information for your safety. Pay special attention to this chapter. The safety instructions and rules of this procedure will help you to avoid hazardous situations and to perform the necessary work as safely as possible.

CAUTION

• Isolation procedures must be followed when working on equipment. • Isolate any other related equipment where its operation will cause danger to personnel or damage to equipment. • Before operating equipment make sure that nobody is inside or in the immediate area of the equipment. • Maintenance and repair should be undertaken by trained personnel. • Always wear correct PPE when working on hydraulic systems. • Ensure that any relevant circuits are depressurised. Release of high pressure fluids can be fatal. As a final check twist the hose to ensure it is loose before disconnecting fittings. • Always be aware of E-Stop locations, in case of an emergency. • Walkways with anti slip plates and handrails are provided. When using the walkway, operators should monitor face conditions to ensure they do not encounter falling coal. • All guards have to be in place when system is in operation. • High pressure fluids can penetrate skin and enter a human body. • These fluid injections may cause severe tissue damage and loss of limb. If a fluid injection accident occurs, see a doctor immediately.
