Engine Coolant Level Sensor The engine coolant level sensor is located in the engine make up tank adjacent to the engine. This sensor monitors the engine coolant level and will shut the machine down by stopping power to the fuel solenoid valve. The fuel solenoid valve will open exhausting air pressure from the system thus the fuel shutdown cylinder will close the fuel rack, this closes of fuel to the engine and shuts the engine down. There is no need for routine calibration of the coolant level sensor as long as routine testing is carried out.

Low Hydraulic Oil Sensor The low hydraulic oil level sensor is located on the inspection cover of the hydraulic tank, when the oil level drops below the prescribe level the machine will display a message.
Low Hydraulic Oil Sensor

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Located behind dash panel Shuts the machine down when there is low engine oil pressure by stopping power to the solenoid which in turn dumps the air from the shutdown cylinder Protects the engine in case of major oil loss by shutting engine down Will continuously shut engine down immediately after re-starting if oil pressure is low Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Testing The engine oil pressure sensor is located under the dash panel in the line to the engine oil pressure gauge. A test valve is located in the operator’s compartment to verify the oil pressure sensor is operating correctly. This will shutdown the machine by blocking oil pressure to the transducer and drain the remaining oil pressure at the transducer to the engine sump. The DCS will then shut the engine down.

Deputy Bypass Switch Located within the operators compartment If unlocked allows the machine to be run when it has a methane fault. Can be configured to reset methane if required by turning the switch to override wait 2 seconds and then go back to off..

Exhaust Scrubber Tank Float Sensor Located on the bottom LHS front of scrubber tank Shuts engine down if water level is below safe operating level Protects from exhaust from being open to atmosphere

Scrubber level sensors (x2)
Exhaust Temperature sensor Located at the end of the exhaust pipe Shuts engine down if exhaust gas temperature exceeds 70°C Shuts engine down if high temperature is detected by de-energising the solenoid valve and dumping the air from the shutdown cylinder Stops the engine being re-started until exhaust gas temperature is below 70°C
Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Located on the rear of the engines’ timing case behind the water pump Shuts engine down if temperature reaches 105 °C by de-energising the Solenoid valve and dumping the air from the shutdown cylinder Protects engine from serious damage from over temperature Stops the engine being re-started until engine temperatures falls below 105°C Different types for different engine packages.
