ENGINE LUBRICATION
Selection of Lubricating Oil
It is extremely important that you select and use in your Case Loader a stable, high quality, "Heavy Duty Type" engine lubricating oil that has the proper body (SAE Viscosity Rating) for the prevailing air temperatures.
Englne on SAE Viscosity Rating
DIESEL ENGINES 3 2° F. and Above I l0°F. to so•F. I Use Only Below 32°F.
SAE 30 I SAE 20W I SAElOW
SPARK IGNITION ENGINES 40°F. and 32°F. -iO"F. Below -lOF All Temperatures Above to 90°F. to 60°F. to 60"F. Above -lO"F. SAE 30 SAE 20W SAE lOW SAE5W-20 SAElOW-30
NOTE If the Case Engine is to operate under a heavy constant load during extremely cold weather, it is advisable to use SAE 10-W. It may be necessary to drain the oil while it is still hot and pre-heat it to approximately 100°F. before pouring it back into the crankcase just prior to starting.
Engine Oii Service Designations DIESEL
DS1 Series 3. Service Classification - severe Diesel engine operation.
DS Service Classification oil must pass the required engine performance test for Series 3 or Mil-L-45199 rating.
Regardless of the type of service, if the fuel contains more than 1.0% sulphur content-use DS Service Classification ofl as
described above. •
GASOLINE
In the engine crankcase, use only MS Service Classification Oil that has passed Automotive Manufacturers Association (AMA) Test Sequences I, II, and III.
