Checking the electrolyte level
CD99G053 Open the right-hand side door and remove the shield. See “Replacing a battery”.
(788 Compact Series)
PG02236 Remove the plugs and check the electrolyte level in each battery cell. The level should be between 10 and 15 mm above the separators. Add distilled water, if necessary. Make sure the battery terminals are clean and coated with grease and that the cables are tightly connected.
CD96C038 Open the right-hand side door and fasten it in open position with the strut.
