A. Apply the parking brake and shift the transmission to 4th gear. B. Raise the loader bucket above the ground. C. Shift the transmission to FORWARD and increase the engine speed to full throttle. The machine must not move. If the machine moves, stop the engine and see the Service Manual or see your dealer and correct the problem. 8. Release the parking brake. 9. Test the foot brakes for correct operation.
Transmission Operation The transmission in this machine has four (4) forward speeds. Always select the correct speed for the job. If you have frequent stalls (engine running at full throttle and the wheels not turning) select a lower gear.
Up-Shifts TRIM THIS EDGE
You can shift the transmission from a lower gear to a higher gear without reducing the machine speed or engine speed. If the gear to be selected is two (2) or more higher than the present gear, the transmission will automatically shift gears at 2.5 second intervals until the gear selected has been reached.
Down-Shifts
Alt= to hide template information Alt+ to display template information
The transmission can be shifted from 4th to 1st gear without reducing machine or engine speed. If 1st gear is to be selected from 3rd or 4th gear, the transmission will down shift to 2nd gear for approximately 1.2 seconds and then shift to 1st gear. For smooth operation and operator comfort, reduce engine speed before down shifts. The transmission can be shifted automatically from 2nd to 1st gear without reducing machine or engine speed using the downshift button located on the transmission control lever (Prior to P.I.N. JEE0052701) and the loader control lever (see Loader Operating Tips in this manual).
Autoshift (P.I.N. JEE0052701and After) Push the switch on the left side of the switch to turn the switch ON, an indicator lamp in the switch will illuminate. The transmission will shift up from 2nd to the highest speed setting on the transmission lever. The transmission will down shift automatically under load from the highest gear lever setting to 2nd gear.
Changing Machine Direction You can change machine direction at any speed. If the transmission is in 3rd or 4th gear, the transmission will automatically shift to 2nd gear of the present direction, reverse direction and then shift up at 2.5 second intervals until the selected gear has been reached. For smooth operation and operator comfort, reduce engine speed before changing direction. 68
