COOLING SYSTEM The engine has a raw-water direct cooling system fed by an impeller type pump located on the front of the engine and driven b y the crankshaft. The water is circulated through the cylinder block and cylinder head jackets and finally discarded via a thermostat controlled outlet into the exhaust manifold.
Pump impeller change – is possible when the pump housing front cover is removed. Pry the impeller off its shaft using two scredrivers. Lubricate the shaft and the impeller vanes with a few drops of oil prior to installation. Bend the vanes opposite to the direction of rotation in order to avoid distortion. Renew the pump housing gasket and install the cover.
