Refill T ransmission. Refer T able 2–6 for fluid refill quantities. The amount refill fluid is less than the amount used for the initial fill. Fluid remains in the external circuits and transmission cavities after draining the transmission. After refill, check the fluid level using the procedure described in 2–TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECK .

NOTE: Quantities listed are approximations and not include external lines and cooler hose.

Location and Purpose. The breather is located top transmission converter housing. The breather prevents air pressure buildup within the transmission and its passage must kept clean and open.

Maintenance. The amount dust and dirt encountered will determine the frequency breather cleaning. Use care when cleaning the transmission.

CAUTION: When cleaning the transmission, not spray steam, water , cleaning solution directly the electrical connectors. Spraying steam, water , cleaning solution the electrical connectors can cause codes and cross talk.

CAUTION: When cleaning the transmission, not spray steam, water , cleaning solution directly the breather . Spraying steam, water , cleaning solution the breather can force water cleaning solution into the transmission and contaminate the transmission fluid.

NOTE: Fluid loss out the breather in cold ambient conditions during engine start may remedied venting the fill tube (refer
