• Driveline angles—runout, balance which does not conform the manufacturer ’s recommendations • Driveline yoke slip joints: – freedom movement – damaged wornout – correctly lubricated – correctly indexed • Driveline midship hanger bearings—damaged misaligned • Universal joints: – freedom movement – damaged wornout – correctly lubricated – correctly indexed • V ehicle dif ferential backlash—manufacturer ’s specification • Universal joint coupling—alignment and dif ferential damage • Crossframe members and rear support members—condition and location • PT Odriven equipment shafts and couplings—damaged misaligned • Auxiliary transmission: – shaft alignment – alignment yoke flange – backlash – fluid leaks
5–4. COOLER, FIL TER, AND LINES
Inspection. Perform the following and correct any faulty conditions: • T ransmission fluid cooler and related coolant lines: – Check for contamination—clean and flush necessary – Inspect for deterioration – Inspect for faulty connectors kinks – Clean and flush transmission fluid cooler , both coolant and oil sides using J 46550A T ransmission Cooler Kwik Cart. Pressure check both sides using a 276 kPa (40 psi) air supply . • Hydraulic lines:
