Driveaway checks are performed verify proper transmission and support equipment installation and operation. The following steps outline driveaway check procedures:

Check fluid—fill the transmission with the appropriate fluid.

Start the vehicle—check for proper system response during startup.

Clear T rouble Codes—during installation, it is common for “false” codes stored in the electronic control’ s TCM. These codes must cleared prior road testing the vehicle. Refer the Allison DOC TM For

Road T est the V ehicle—allow the electronic control time “converge” shifts.

Check for Proper Operation—check all components for proper mounting and operation, and check for transmission fluid leaks gasket surfaces, lines, and hoses.

Recheck for T rouble Code—use the Allison DOC TM for PC–Service
