REFITTING THE CYLINDER HEAD

Important: Carefully inspect the new cylinder head gasket to find any manufacturing flaws.

– Fit a new cylinder head gasket onto the cylinder block. Fit it dry without sealing compound. – To prevent damaging the cylinder head gasket, use centering studs. – Position the cylinder head on the centering pins and lay the cylinder head on the cylinder block. – Remove the centering studs.

Warning: The 2 front screws (timing side) of the cylinder head are 26 mm longer than the other screws. Do not swap the screws. Important: Always use new cylinder head screws.

– Fully dip the screws into clean motor oil. Eliminate any excess oil. – Tighten the cylinder head screws to the specified torque setting, using the sequence indicated, starting with screw No.(1). Cylinder head bolts: Step 1:Tightening 10 daN.m. Step 2:Second tightening 15 daN.m. Step 3:Check torque after 5 minutes 15 daN.m. Step 4:Final angular tightening 60°+/- 10°.
