Engine/Transmission This section has been organized into sub-sections which show a progression for the complete servicing of the Arctic Cat Y-12+ engine/transmission. NOTE: Arctic Cat recommends the use of new gaskets, lock nuts, and seals and lubricating all internal components when servicing the engine/transmission. Removing Engine/ Transmission

3. Drain the engine oil. NOTE: The drain plug is located at the left-rear of the engine.

1. Turn the gas tank valve to the OFF position; then remove the seat and disconnect the negative battery cable securing it away from the battery.

4. Remove the left and right footwells and the left-side footwell mounting plate; then remove the drive sprocket and chain from the transmission output shaft.

! WARNING Battery acid is harmful if it contacts eyes, skin, or clothing. Care must be taken whenever handling a battery.

2. Drain the transmission lubricant. NOTE: The drain plug is located on the bottom of the transmission.
