What is the XTRA? SEED TREATMENT BOOSTS ESTABLISHMENT AND PRODUCTION

Hewitt & Whitty have select mixes that contain ryegrass treated with Gaucho insecticide by Bayer. Trials and demonstrations on farm have shown better seedling establishment by 29% and increased pasture production by an average 30% by using this treatment compared to untreated seed of the same variety. Simply put, this treatment gives you more plants and more feed!

A selective herbicide designed to control certain weeds in non clover stands of annual, Italian & perennial ryegrass. Hewitt and Whitty have seen great resuts in controlling barley grass and winter grass in newly sown ryegrass. Tramat can also be used in your established ryegrass pastures if barely grass is starting to reappear.

SLUG DAMAGE & CONTROL In recent years, slugs have proven to do immense damage to newly sown pastures. At Hewitt and Whitty we have a range of baits varying in actives, rainfastness and price.

Monitor the paddock 2 weeks prior to planting and for up to 8 weeks after planting. Talk to us about tailoring a slug bait program to suit your needs.

TIP FROM THE AGRO: ‘Crickets drive us hopping mad!’

CRICKETS & HOPPERS CONTROL Field crickets and grass hoppers can do significant damage to pastures in the late summer & autumn periods.

Crickets have the ability to chew through seeds, young tillers and green material.

Grass hoppers also feed on young tillers and green material, severely impacting on a pastures persistence.

Early monitoring can lead to successful control; talk to us about baiting and spray options.
