“They played teams from all over Queensland including Northside Brisbane, Gold Coast and Mackay and the team went on to sit 6th overall in their division,” Danielle said “Our president who coached this team was proud of the growth and maturity the boys developed over the season.

“They worked really hard on teamwork and the importance of using each other.

“After some great wins, the boys were exhausted after five days of competition but are looking forward to working harder next season.”

Danielle said the U14s Team B was by far the most fun and most energetic team this year.

“Every game, training session and game had lots of laughter.

“The improvement these 11 players showed was astounding and this paid off when they beat an undefeated team in our CQ carnivals which won them the silver medal!

The playground at Harmony House is an essential part of building positive family relationships through play during these visits and unfortunately the 14-year-old shade sail that was covering the playground was beyond repair.

The centre is also used twice a week by the Department of Child Safety reunification playgroup.

Karlita reached out to the Hervey Bay RSL Community Grants Program for assistance in buying a new one, which was whole-heartedly approved by the grants committee for $3200.

“Due to the daily use of the playground is essential that there is a shade sail to protect the children and families from sunburn and other health problems from prolonged exposure to the sun.

“The shade sail will allow for the playground to be used all year round now.

“Thank you to the RSL for assistance with this; we really appreciate it, and the kids are so excited that we have a new shade sail.”
