Testosterone Thursday 15th March, 7.45pm What does it mean to be a man or a woman? Is gender innate or is it nurtured? Kit is in an amusing and unique position; having transitioned from female to male in his early thirties, he has experienced adult life on both sides of the gender fence, giving him the opportunity to notice what differences there are in how he is treated by society - what he gains and what he loses by becoming a man. However, his biggest challenge comes when he enters a male gym changing room for the first time and is confronted by masculinity in all its forms - the good, the bad and the ugly. What kind of man will he be when he finishes changing? With this refreshingly honest and irreverent physical theatre comedy by critically acclaimed company Rhum and Clay and darkly comic theatre writer and director Kit Redstone, they explore the epic path that we all have to take when trying to forge an identity. COMEDY

Shappi Khorsandi Mistress and Misfit Friday 13th April, 8pm Shappi presents England’s unsung heroine, Emma Hamilton. For too many years she has been known as just ‘Nelson’s mistress’, a bit of a harlot. (You get ONE job in a brothel and bang goes your reputation.) Women’s lib wasn’t a ‘thing’ in Georgian times, Emma moved mountains to haul herself from ‘scullery maid’ to ‘Lady Hamilton’. Yes, she occasionally danced on tables naked to get ahead in life, but who hasn’t? As a fellow naked dancer on tables, Shappi is inspired by Emma, although she never wants hair big enough to house mice in. Star of Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Have I Got News for You and Q.I, Shappi is on the road with her new sell out show. She has whipcrack jokes and is effortlessly funny as she handles every subject with a razor sharp wit, softened only by her deliciously mischievous delivery and endless charm. Shappi Khorsandi is also the best selling author of ‘A Beginners Guide to Acting English’ and her fantastic debut novel ‘Nina is not OK’ was published by Ebury in 2016. Shappi was also recently elected president of the British Humanist society. Suitable for ages 15+ Approx. 2hrs £16, £14 concs 18 hertfordtheatre.com | 01992 531500 | Each ticket price includes a £1 booking fee
