Dunlay party set for Dec. 17 DUNLAY – Dunlay Lodge members are reminded of the upcoming Christmas party. It is set for Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m. Food will be provided and a special evening is planned. The lodge met Sept. 16 and members observed a moment of silence in memory of Necey Schulte who passed away Aug. Stanley and Dolly Meyer celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 12 with a family trip to Cancun, Mexico. Stanley and Dolly have been members of Dunlay Lodge since Nov. 4, 2003. Stanley was also celebrating his 80th birthday.
30. Necey had been an active member of the lodge since Sept. 8, 2003. Clyde Muennink was thanked for the great work he did in repairing windows and replacing the water pump at the lodge hall. – Reporter
AUSTIN – Austin Lodge will meet Nov. 3. The meeting will include the election of the 2020 officers. Anyone wanting to hold an office is asked to attend the meeting. Members are asked to bring their favorite pot of chili or beans and a dessert. At the Oct. 6 meeting, President Ed Kurtz read correspondence from the Home Office regarding changes to the requirements for living at the Retirement Home. Members approved a $100 donation to the Southeast Texas Food Bank that serves the area hit hard by the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Imelda. Plum donates to Retirement Home Fund PLUM – Plum Lodge met Sept. 9 with members approving a $100 donation to the Retirement Home Christmas Fund. The meal included Subway sandwiches along with the chips, dips and desserts provided by members. Thanks go to Secretary Jackie Wessels for picking up the sandwiches.
Verlene Hobratschk expressed her thanks to the lodge for the get-well card she received. “Happy Birthday” was sung to Gene Wessels and Linda Poncik. Gene turned 91 on Sept. 3 and has been a member of the lodge for 73 years. Linda celebrated her birthday on Sept. 25 and has been a member for
