Lieutenant Governor’s Greeting

Hello Division 11, For those who do not know me or are new members, I am Herman Li your Lieutenant Governor for the 2012-2013 Key Club year. I do not wish to serve above you, but I will act as your medium to express your own personal ideas that will allow you to exceed in Key Club. Fall is the time where school starts, as well as a fresh new start when coming back from Summer Break. Take this opportunity to encourage new members to join Key Club. Grab their attention to join Key Club not for the credits. They come first with friends, but stay for the service. Teach them about the morals that we uphold in Key Club. Again with a new school year means a new start, if you have not been feeling like you have meet your own personal expectations, revise yourself and aim towards what you could do in the future. New service opportunities await you and are eager for your attention. Remember, you the members hold the most power in Key Club. Good luck Division 11.

Summer Summary Hello Division 11, During the summer we got a lot of things accomplished from the August Divisional, Division Training Conference, Alley Pond Park Fundraiser, and all the volunteering and fundraising done during this summer. I would like to thank you for those who attended divisional events as well as those who participated in your individual club events as well. During the Division Training Conference we got to learned more in depth about what each position as a club officer does and the specifics behind the responsibilities. During The Alley Pond Park Fundraiser we got to enjoy ourselves at Alley Pond Park for a whole day with food, drinks and games. Again I would like to thank everyone for such a great summer and I hope the start of the year brings even more opportunities. Page 3

Youth Opportunity Fund

YOF, also known as the Youth Opportunities Fund is an endowed fund for Key Club International held within the Kiwanis International Foundation. The fund allows Key Clubs and their members to serve the world, have fundraisers, and other great things by providing grants for service opportunities. Clubs are allowed to apply for these funds if necessary to assist their club's functioning and to help them accomplish things that they want to do like raise money for Eliminate, host a local senior center dance, etc. You too can apply for these funds. Clubs may request funding assistance anywhere from $100 to $2000. Applications for the Youth Opportunities Fund are due by Monday, October 15th. You will find out whether or not your club has received the grant no later than January 15th. Remember to ask reasonably and be considerate, because there are many clubs out there that need these grants too. I hope this will be a helpful resource for your club this year and for the years to come. For more information please follow the links provided.

Additional Notes: 

Think about what kind of fundraiser or service you are planning. (ex. Making food for the food pantry, lemonade stand fundraiser) (ex. Movie Night fundraiser)
