"Hooray!" I shouted, I am so excited about today. Why am I so enthusiastic you may ask, because today is the first day of summer vacation.We were on our way to the beach Every year me and my family visit the beach for a whole month. So as you can see there is much to be excited about. As we drove along I could barely wait, I could smell the fresh, salty ocean air. I asked my parents "are we there yet." They replied with one word, yes! This year in particular is extra exciting because we are going to rent a new beach house. We had arrived as I leapt up out of the car to my dismay the new beach house wasn't as great as I had anticipated.

My parents and I went for a walk around town. As I was dragged into the Pirate Museum I listened to stories of the pirates and their treasure. The stories were not at all what I had expected they surprisingly were very interesting. One story in particular was the most interesting about pirates who had supposedly buried their treasure on this very beach. When we returned home I went outside searched for more about this new found buried treasure. I felt the hot, dry rough grains of sand on my feet. As I searched I heard someone call out "hey what are you doing." As I looked up I saw the face of the kid from the beach house down the street. I replied, "I am looking for the buried treasure."The kids name was Joe and he wanted to help me on my quest. We decided that the next day we would look for clues around town.

The next day we split up and looked for clues I went to learn more from the Pirates Museum and it's workers and he asked around people town and looked for other places that might help. From my second trip at the museum, I was told much more about the pirates who sailed the deadly ocean seas. I could practically feel the windy, cold rough seas of the ocean. I learned this city used to be the hideout for the pirates, and that there was also a map hidden somewhere to lead you to the treasure. Part of the map was kept here in a secret room but the rest was yet to be found. I was overjoyed with this incredible news and ran quickly to tell Joe. The next day we went tubing but there was a bit of a problem, When my cousins were tubing i tried to distract them so one of them would fall off.I decided to tell them that I was gonna take a picture but I really wasn't.Until a bump came and one of my cousins fell, they were stopping the boat and I was trying to get on the other side so I could go but the thing Is i didn't have a life jacket on , i guess I forgot.I fell into the water and I felt like i was gonna drown right at that moment, my cousin saw that I didn't have one on and she came and got me.I got back to the boat and got a life jacket on i don't know what I was thinking.That day was a nightmare after that point, It was the next day today and we had a family cookout because this was our third to last day we were here. I kept thinking about how much i'm gonna miss this family, i wouldn't be able to see them till next summer, maybe even 2 summers!!When the barbecue and the chicken and all that good stuff was done I ate and spent the rest of the day taking photos and making memories for this Texas trip.

I wake up to the sound of my alarm reminding me, today is the big day. Today is the day! It is May 31st, the start of our full month summer vacation. I myself, get up, turn my alarm off, and walk to the kitchen to have some breakfast. I had a feeling that today was going to be a superb day. Once I finished eating breakfast, I jumped into the shower, and started to get ready for what the day had in store for us. After, my shower, I got dressed, and finished getting ready for the trip. I made sure that I was all packed and ready to go for the drive ahead of us, and the long airplane ride later that day. Students often wonder how fun it would be if they had a three–week break every nine weeks, as opposed to one long summer break. Changing summer break into much shorter, but more frequent breaks would be beneficial for many reasons. Just think, most students lose up to one month of knowledge over the summer. A success of a student relies on a the time spent in school. Anaheim high school students need to have longer hours in school to study for and get all the help they need and to make that happen there needs to be less summer vacation my argument is that KIPP students are smart and well educated because they have long hours of school and study for approximately 2 hours and read and listen to music for about the same time. Packing for Summer Vacation There is nothing I love more than going on a summer vacation with my family and friends. I like to lay on sweltering days by the pool side, eat delicious dinners, and party endlessly. Summer trips make memories for years to come. But, I cannot enjoy the beautiful scenery and experience the carefree attitudes without preparing for the trip proper packing preparation. Many travelers overlook the most crucial element of a trip: packing their suitcase. Packing is the simplest part of preparing for vacation: travelers throwing clothes and shoes into a bag and zipping it up. Yet, packing seems to cause the most chaos. Traveler's often forget chargers, misplace socks, and find out too late, nothing matches. The problem of not having space stems from over packing unnecessary items and exceeding the weight and size limits of luggage. I will teach travelers how to avoid disasters while packing for summer vacation. Summer vacation is a time for relaxation, not added stress and confusion. Not only do I need to take into consideration the size of the suitcase I will need, but also pack items appropriate to events I plan on attending during my trip. When I pack, I prioritize fitting all articles of clothing and pieces into my suitcase. Can you imagine going to an all year round –school? It must be horrible. You would have to go to school all year with short breaks in–between quarters. You couldn't go on vacation, you couldn't do activities, and summer is for family memories and its tradition. So why would we change tradition to go to school all year. Here are reasons why we shouldn't apply to an all year round–schools.

Most of the teachers also want to get summer jobs for more money. Teachers also just want to get away from the students (and it's the other way around too). Also, mothers that are teachers cannot spend time with their kids in school because they will be teaching (Nair), you couldn't go on vacations. The third reason why we shouldn't have all year round –schools is because, its tradition to have 180 day's strait with 3 months of breaks and it gives us more important things to do in the summer. According to Julia Sines, to have a 3–month summer and do more fun activities to do all summer is better than going to school year round. Kids want to go on vacations with their parents. Some athletic kids won't be able to play travel sports. Scientist say that year round school kids drop out by their senior year (Sines). Most juniors and seniors work in the summer for money for colleges and to save up, but they won't be able to get money. It's more American to have 180 straight days with 3–month break. We shouldn't have to go to year–round school one reason is there is too much stress in the schools can cause things bad to happen. Also you it will mess up yours and other people's schedules. According to (Mass Literacy) you can read books and take a quiz to increase your memory. You can also print math worksheets of the internet. According to (Great! Schools) you can create a little building to increase math. Another reason is you can act out plays without the script to increase your memory. You can use math in the real world by for example going to the store with your family and help them figure out the cost or you can build with your family to use fractions and measurements of the wood or whatever you're building with. You can also do flash cards to remember. One reason we should have year–round school is, there wouldn't be an overflowing class room, because according to (Screenflex) there would be four different tracks. When one track is on vacation the other three will still be working in school. While this is happening the classrooms won't be so packed so you don't have to bring in extra chairs or desk. Not to say there weren't any warm memories from those summer beach retreats. Surprisingly there are many, but at 16 you kind of gravitate towards the bad stuff. The melancholy teenager hanging on to anything to give her a thick wall to build around herself. Yes, I would have written something light and clever and given it a really zingy title. I was well known for my zingy titles. Instead Mrs. Lampo asked us to write not one silly essay but a collection of private personal ones. I believe it was called a "me book". It was June 2nd, school was out, it's now summer vacation. Genesis' parents, Gregory and Raina, were taking a month off of work to spend it in New York. They had forgotten Genesis' and her siblings, Nikki and Marquise were going to be out of school at this time. So they had announced to them that they were going to New York with them. For that rest of the day we went to a restaurant called Puckett's and apparently it is right down the road from Justin Timberlake's recording studio/private house, All of the kids including me went to his front and touched his door knob and I might of took a sneak peek inside his house. The last day we were there we visited a beautiful waterfall, even though it was a lovely site the water part was very deadly. The reason why it was deadly was there were big boulders everywhere you stepped, and there were water moccasins which are venomous snakes that lurked around in the water. When it was time to live the waterfall a water moccasin was about 20 feet in front of me and my friends, thankfully another guy ran into the water scaring the snake away making it safe for me and my buddies to get out. Honestly out of the whole entire summer this had to be my favorite vacation.

This next vacation isn't really a vacation it's more of an event but it was fun, hilarious, and relaxing like a vacation.
