I am a Design Engineer from Loughborough University eager to use my skills to make a positive impact. I enjoy combining my technical and design experience to create innovative solutions and impactful products. I most recently completed a two years at Dyson as a design engineer in the new product development department.

Product Design Engineering Beng
My undergraduate course provided me with a strong grounding in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical and design knowledge.
Loughborough University
Integrated Industrial Design MSc.
My masters then allowed me to experience the product development process from a designer’s perspective
Loughborough University
Process Engineer
I completed a 1-year industrial placement as a process engineer supporting the manufacture of superconducting magnets for MRI scanners.
Siemens Healthineers
EXPERIENCE
Design Engineer
I completed 2 years as part of the New Product Development department taking concepts to DFM primarily designing fans and purifiers.
Dyson
Siemens
Process Improvement
Super Conducting Magnet for MRI
Allergen Pen Healthcare Engineering Project
3D Printing Food Undergraduate Dissertation
At Dyson, I spent the majority of my time in the fans and purifiers department, working on projects from concept development to design for manufacture. I also contributed to developmental projects on the robot vacuum and wet floor cleaner.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
**Due to the confidentiality of the projects, these are examples of similar products and work packages.
Presented live over a two-day event at Good House Keeping Live in London on indoor air pollution.
Got involved with Dyson media, talking on Dyson’s sensing and purifying technology on their YouTube and for Instagram.
Volunteered at multiple James Dyson Foundation events at schools, science fairs and universities.
Launched a Women in STEM group at Dyson’s secondary campus, organising networking events and supporting wider Dyson events.
CUP WASH STATION 02
The Brief
To promote and support sustainable habits in order to reduce the consumption of single use products.
Focused
To design a product which assists with and promotes the use of reusable cups in a university environment to increase uptake in reusable cup schemes and in turn reduce disposable cup waste.
Final Design
A combined reusable cup washer and bottle refill fountain making managing and using your reusable items on-the-go simple. The stations will be wall mounted within universities in key locations for students and staff to use as they go about their day-to-day activities
Key Feature
The wash half features a cylindrical compartment with automated revolving door and wash cycle featuring hot wash, cold rinse and air dry supplied as jets through a revolving nozzle central nozzle and wall nozzles.
Development

FACE MASK 03
Custom mask design: Solidworks. MSc
I designed a respirator mask to protect against small droplets and particulates with replaceable particulate filters and an exhalation valve. In addition, it also has a custom fit seal and a filter replacement reminder function.
For this project photogrammetry was used to produce 3D scan data of my head and shoulders. This was produced by taking multiple photos using a single camera which were then combined to create a 3D virtual model
Surface referencing and deviation analysis- Solidworks
Surface Analysis
Surface analysis allowed problematic areas to be identified so that new patch layouts could be tried to achieve high quality surface continuity.
AQUA SHOT 04
MSc
Brief: To identify a persona and design a product for them looking to future technology, drawing inspiration for form, style and aesthetics from surrounding research.
Design Research & Ideation Skills: Digital and hand sketching, form, material and colour analysis, digital mashups, illustration, storyboards, photoshop, procreate, SketchUp, InDesign & more.
This module was all about rapid development and ideation making use of a range of visual skills and software's to facilitate this.
The work presented here was supported by a log book. As one of the first modules in my masters this was also a rapid learning curve at the time, but one I thoroughly enjoyed.
Supported the manufacture of superconducting magnets for MRI scanners.
Assembly Jig
Updated the Jig design producing CAD and working with a manufacturer.
Multi-layer-insulation
Blanket: Process engineering representative in a multidisciplinary team introducing a new design and material.
Tooling Solution: Designed and introduced a new tool for assembly.
3D printed prototypes to run trials before sending engineering drawings to manufacturer.
06 ALLERGEN PEN
BEng
The Brief
To design a device to increase the reliability and repeatability of the allergen skin testing process.
Key Considerations
Sustainability within healthcare looking at minimising the material waste of disposable products such as lancets used to pierce the skin.
Ideation
Design Development
Lancet Design
and Testing
Ergonomic testing of casing design looking at different hand positions.. A foam modelled and 3D printed prototyped used for form testing.
Water droplet deposited held around the needle and straw by surface tension.
