IDS 60608 INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE DESIGN IV HEE LIN WEI | 0348883 | BIA SEM 4 | E-PORTFOLIO

MODULE DESCRIPTION

Emphasis is directed into design process, programming, analytical critical thinking with the considerations of the environment influences, behavioural studies and end user ’ s needs and design resolution.

Distinctively the progression would be enhanced with having effective graphical communication and technical skill. More commercial project tasks are introduced to relate to the direction of the industry that manipulates various specialised details of materiality and specifications. The module investigates the attraction of workspace value to their specific markets through interior design, which accurately reflects brand values and corporate identity.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The chosen issue under Sustainable Developm Consumption and Production". Studio Zynergy focused on one of the main issues that technological change. The effects of pollution and the depletion of natural resources have brought drastic changes to our environment. Studio Zynergy is an interactive space that targets millennials and gen z to experience activities and work together in an open space. Our goal is to assess the knowledge of the users about e-waste. We are now in the generation of we, we are here to make changes. Users can trade in their devices, and utilize our repurpose equipment and spaces made of recycled material to create new ideas while spreading awareness of ewaste.

PHASE 1

NARRATIVE PROGRAMMING

In phase 1, we were required to study the chosen Sustainable Development Goal and come up with our concept ideas representing the allegory of the issue and portray the findings into narrative representation. Our group has chosen SDG 12, "Responsible Consumption and Production". We produce a form of infographic based on our findings and also created a narrative programming board that shows the activities we will possibly include in our later project. For individual work, we did an object that signifies with our SDG issue.

PHASE 02

MODEL

For phase 2, we were required to build a physical model of PAM building at a scale of 1:100 as group work and the facade must be openable to allow the interior spaces to be built later.

Individually, we were required to produce a spatial model at the same scale 1:100 for the proposed interior areas.

PHASE 03

WORK + PLAY CENTER

Based on Narrative Programming and the focused object designed in Project 1, students are required to design an appealing work space individually at the level chosen. Create an engaging workspaces that lead to transformation and growth, shift the culture towards engagement and productivity. Rethinking the power of culture and space for insightful experience, a space that boost employee engagement and vitality by the creative use of space, flow with powerful effect on the human psyche. Digital technologies are transforming not only on the work people do, but also the ways of the workspaces are designed, built and operated. But the very essence of the workplace ― human interaction and collaboration, remains as necessary as ever. The new norm and latest technologies are also expected to be explored from voice and digital twins, to new materials such as graphene and battery-powered buildings. This center shall be a new and dynamic workspace for work, sparking creativity, communication, collaborative environment and innovation.

FINAL REVIEW DAY

REFLECTION

Throughout this semester, I have learned to improve my time management better and I am glad that I finished everything on time.

My biggest challenge throughout this module would be identifying myself in the design. I struggled when I was finding inspiration, and everything is kind of laying around and it feels out of place. The lesson I learned from this semester is to really figure out what I really want and be confident. What I enjoy the most about this module is the individual model where I get to build my space at a miniature scale, it is always my passion to build this kind of thing.

To conclude, I have conquered many obstacles during the semester and I am glad that I make it to the end. I will continue to do my best in the future.
