Gary Henry's side weren't in action last weekend, meaning they have a game in hand on most of the other 15 teams in the division. Our second-string were knocked out the Team Valley Carpets Combination Cup to West Moor & Jesmond on penalties - the competition they won last season. Henry's outfit have only lost one out of their seven opening league fixtures, winning four. The biggest victory was a 6-0 jubilation at Hexham towards the end of August, where U18 midfielder Ryan Hardie netted a hat-trick. Jack Robertson currently sits on five goals, while fellow strikers Robbie Gateshill and John Murray are also rising up the charts. The side didn't play a league game in September, and now have five fixtures penned in for October. They're away to Bedlington this afternoon and face bottom-placed North Shields Athletic next weekend. The next home game is on Saturday, October 15 as West Moor & Jesmond visit The Green Energy Sports Ground.
