Enrichment Week Guide Introduction
18 – 20 July 2022
In the last week of the academic year we are planning three days of Enrichment Activities for all students in Years 7, 9 and 10 to coincide with students in Year 8 attending camp. This will take place from Monday 18 July to Wednesday 20 July 2022. We will be offering students a wide range of activities that will give them an opportunity to learn outside of the classroom or in a different way. Activities may give them the chance to establish, or develop further, a new or existing skill. They will have the opportunity to work with staff and other students in new ways which will help their personal development and allow them to engage in deeper learning. In this booklet you will find details of all the activities being offered this year. Activities offered may be limited to certain year groups or they may be open to all three year groups. These details are in the booklet along with any costs and equipment needed by students. The contents page provides a quick overview to assist with this. We have tried to keep the cost of activities as low as possible and some are free of charge. Please read this booklet, with your child, and examine the activity details carefully. This will help to ensure your child selects an option that is appropriate for their interests and will make sure that Enrichment Week is as enjoyable and successful as possible for them and the other students involved. There are two types of events: 1 or 3 days. Students can either pick a 3 day event to specialise in one activity or three 1 day events allowing them to choose a variety of activities. We are asking students to make five preferences for 1 day events because many activities have a limited capacity so your first three preferences may not be guaranteed. Option 1 My first preference is to participate in a 3 day event Step 1: Choose a 3 day event. Step 2: For reserve choose either another 3 day event or five 1 day events. Google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdqN1 _crtZe4e6pXQmczeAdlRITO6Jj3pVEtI4K5ZFB5dXkcQ /viewform?usp=sf_link
Option 2 My first preference is to participate in three 1 day events Step 1: Choose five 1 day events. Google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf2zj_y ZtDVzFIG3IMGETB4DOYE6tAMnV26YxmrpOSiPiWfr w/viewform?usp=sf_link
To secure a place on your child’s chosen activity we require full payment by 28 March 2022. It is important that your child selects an activity that you have already approved with them at home. Next steps: ● Look at the options with your child ● Complete the appropriate student preference Google form (hyperlink in each option) giving their preferences by Wednesday 8 December 2021. ● We will allocate and confirm preferences of activities during Term 3. ● Full payment for all activities will be required by 28 March 2022 however residential trips will have an earlier deadline and a separate letter will be sent regarding payment schedules. Thank you for your support - we hope everyone has a worthwhile and memorable experience. 1 | Page
