Fear or Faith?

In today's world we all face fear right? But who can overcome fear? How does that happen? By trusting in God, and in the word of God. What does it say? That faith can move mountains & truly it does.

Mark 4:40 And he said unto them Why are you so fearful how is it ye have no faith.

With God fear should not exist Fear is something the devil tries to get you to fall but we need focus on God See the Lord wants you to be overgrown with faith so stop and think fear or faith?

Palms 23:4-5 Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will not fear no evil; for thou art with me thou prepares me a table for me in the presence of mine enemies thou anointed my head with oil my cup ren-

When the season was over & we gave out 4000 bears that's when Satan tried to knock me down with computer crashing to car breaking down & needing half of a Motor . Winter Thoughts for Elderly If you are up there in age do not be prideful & shovel let someone younger shovel your walkway. I know someone who at the age of 50 went out and shoveled snow, and they had a massive heart attack. The elderly are more at risk.

And those who are younger please check on the elderly in a storm if the elderly loose electric they will not go elsewhere they have more pride then we do so we want them to be safe so check on them see that they have proper heat & make sure they do not have a generator in the House Make sure Elderly always have Emergency kit Emergency water Emergency Food as we get older we forget I know I do already so be there to help them in a snow storm As a Chaplain on the Emergency response team This is one thing that we train our Teams on.

Fear itself - What is its origin?

man's alienation from God. The first mention or manifestation of fear in the Bible was from the first man, Adam. While in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had been given a command by the Lord to refrain from eating the fruit of the tree in the midst of the Garden. The serpent, Satan, deceived them and caused them to disobey God. As a result they became afraid and hid from God. Genesis 3:8-10 shares the account, "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, 'Where are you?' He answered, 'I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.'"

The root of so many fear-based thoughts is this alienation between God and man. When man sinned, he no longer enjoyed the close, intimate, loving fellowship with God as at the beginning. Fear of punishment, insecurity, dread of evil events, anticipation of loss all stem from the lost relationship to God and the covering that comes from His loving protection. Inherently, sin makes man feel that he is undeserving of any good from the hand of the Lord and is therefore vulnerable to all kinds of bad things.

Fear is defined as, "an unpleasant feeling of apprehension or distress caused by the presence or anticipation of danger."1 But what is the origin of this unpleasant feeling fear itself?

Rising also out of the enmity between God and man is the feeling of inadequacy that generates all kinds of fears and is a direct cause of unbelief. Faith and fear cannot be present at the same time. When we trust in the promises of God, we are not afraid.

Moses sent twelve spies to spy out the land of Canaan and ten of them came back with this report: Numbers 13:31 says, "But the men who had gone up with him said, 'We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are.'"

Though the children of Israel had received the promise that God would give them the Land of Canaan and had led them through the Red Sea and had promised to be with them, they still feared. They felt inadequate to tackle the "giants" in the land and, rather, forfeited the promise.

What was the origin of their fear? The Bible gives us a very clear answer. It was their unbelief and it caused them to fail to enter the Promised Land. Hebrews 3:19 says, "So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief." Sin and unbelief working in the life of any person will promote fear and alienation. Heart to Heart Ministries is a 501 3c Non Profit . The ministry works with hospitals and nursing homes to not only bring the word of God to those who have been forgotten, lonely, and depressed but to provide comfort. Over those 7+ years Rev. Miller noticed time and time again that the people he has met along his journey have been left in the hospitals, nursing homes or left in a small apartment with absolutely no one to talk to. This is a major problem not only in the State of Michigan, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio but all over the world.

“I will always remember our first call taken on the Senior Talk Line. I had answered the phone with one of our friendly greetings and in return was told I AM DYING. That night I spent over 2 hours on the phone talking with someone who not only was scared of the future but also who was alone and had no one else to talk to about what was going on. Since then our first caller calls back once a week and has been doing well not only emotionally but in her health. We are a small group of volunteers who want to see nothing more than the smile on the face of the seniors we come in contact with no matter where we are or how we come in contact. It's about doing the right thing and being there for those who have no one else.

We are a small call center planned to have 6 phone lines and a small office based out of Lexington, KY where Pastor Miller lives and works.

Our hours may vary based on availability of volunteers and office hours which will be posted.

Aside from our call center our web site will have a chat option on it for those who are more technically inclined.

It is with a good heart that we move forward in taking care of the elderly in our communities. We may be a small start but it's the small things that can make a big difference in someone's life.

SENIOR ABUSE Does someone you know—a senior or adult with a disability—display any warning signs of mistreatment?

WHO IS AT RISK? Elder abuse can occur anywhere – in the home, in nursing homes, or other institutions. It affects seniors across all socio-economic groups, cultures, and races. Based on available information, women and “older” elders are more likely to be victimized. Dementia is a significant risk factor. Mental health and substance abuse issues – of both abusers and victims – are risk factors. Isolation can also contribute to risk.

Neglect • Lack of basic hygiene, adequate food, or clean and appropriate clothing • Lack of medical aids (glasses, walker, teeth, hearing aid, medications) • Person with dementia left unsupervised • Person confined to bed is left without care • Home cluttered, filthy, in disrepair, or having fire and safety hazards • Home without adequate facilities (stove, refrigerator, heat, cooling, working plumbing, and electricity) • Untreated pressure “bed” WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I SUSPECT ABUSE? sores (pressure ulcers) Report your concerns. BANKING SAFETY TIPS… It is important to keep your hard-earned money safe.

Whether you are concerned about online banking security or the traditional banking security threats, you can educate yourself about the risks.

Personal Identification Number (PIN) PIN numbers are security features that are important to keep your money and your information safe. Picking a good PIN number and remembering it is important. Memorize your PINs; do not write them down: Use a friend‘s phone number, dates, or spell a word with corresponding numbers like those on your phone.

Safe Banks and FDIC Coverage Some people only want to work with the safest banks. Even with FDIC insurance, bank failures can be a hassle. By sticking to the safest banks, you reduce the likelihood of any headaches, delays, or name changes on your statements. FDIC coverage can be complex. Adequate computer software protection is a must to protect financial information from thieves. To learn more about this protection, consult any computer store. Never, ever click on a link from any business that asks for your personal information. The best way is to immediately delete any suspicious mail and inform your financial institution.

Remember no reputable business firm will ask for your personal information via a link to their site.

If your bank uses a watermark or some other personal image, do not log in unless you see the correct information.

Overseen by Rev Jerry L Williams Trooper’s owner is Angela Kessy. Trooper is a golden retriever who is the dog who does much of the work. Trooper is 6 years old and he has the gift of knowing when others are down, sick depressed & sometimes he knows when someone may be leaving us. Trooper is a well trained dog. Once you put that vest on he knows it is time for work & is eager to do so. Trooper’s duties are emergency visits to hospitals. Trooper also goes to nursing homes on Thursday’s & Friday’s where he greets everyone at the Heart to Heart Bible study. When the Pastor Prays Trooper knows when to jump up & pray with the Pastor. He also sits there through the study & goes to greet everyone when he comes & goes. A lot of time those who are terminally ill’s family will call the K9 team & he will just sit there to comfort that person. Sometimes he visits first responder's as well. Troopers hobbies are running, toys watching TV and being with those he loves. Trooper is one of a kind. We also have Dexter who is three years old.
