Most recently, they made a generous donation to Selby & District Food Bank as part of a team building module within the course. This saw them split into two teams and compete to try and arrange the biggest collection for the food bank.

The Lake District Inspires Global Adventure

The UK’s Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, not only attracts millions of visitors annually but also inspired the global adventure of mountaineering. It was here in the early 19th century that the sport essentially began, thanks to the efforts of local guides.

Hear from our Students

Business

I’ve always had an interest in business and the course has provided me with the knowledge to think critically about business activity and behaviours. I can now understand why businesses make certain decisions or how organisations work in teams to achieve their successes.

I really enjoyed my two years studying at Selby College. My tutors really helped me grow as a person and I can’t thank them enough for this.

The course taught me so much which I was able to take away with me. It had its challenges over the duration, but I enjoyed every single minute of it.

Travel & Toursim

A major benefit of my course was that it helped to build my confidence, especially doing presentations, which is crucial to have when leading groups of 20-30 children and also as a member of Cabin Crew.

The Big Apple and More

As a Business or Travel & Tourism student, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a number of trips. Our students have previously been to Flamingo Land, Carlton Towers and even New York!

When exploring the Big Apple, students were able to gain insight into New York’s business scene with trips to Wall Street and a talk at Macy’s, as well as visiting New York’s iconic buildings and sights.

Business students from the College enjoyed the trip of a lifetime to New York, which saw them visit some amazing landmarks and taste all the local delicacies the Big Apple has to offer, including lots of pizza, authentic American diner food at The Comfort Diner and of course fried chicken!

Their Manhattan adventure began with a visit to the incredible Empire State Building and they also had the opportunity to walk around the iconic Times Square and Broadway theatre

Over the course of a week the students went on to visit and enjoy tours of several special locations in New York, including; the Flatiron Building, Trinity Church, Wall Street, New York Stock Exchange, Battery Park, the Observatory on top of the One World Trade Centre, the 9/11 Memorial, Grand Central Station, a tour and talk at Macy’s, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. What a trip!

Gain Insight Into Life as Cabin Crew
