Rebirth During a wonderful conversation with a loving friend, he suggested that I write an article about “REBIRTH”. At that moment, I just looked at him and from deep within my core I felt I wanted to scream: “Each day is a rebirth!”. It took long to actually put down on paper my thoughts, as there were so many. The rebirth of each new day, the rebirth of a situation... After a long inner journey, this is what rebirth means to me: We live in a world where we have witnessed wars, suffering, desperation, depressions, illnesses and violence mirrored in front of us or within us, in our homes, our families, our countries and only a tunnel of darkness seems to present itself; “our deaths/rebirths” are presented to us on a daily basis like a gift and somehow we do not see it. Sometimes I feel this great need to love people like there is no tomorrow, yet knowing there are no truths, as bombs explode in our hearts and hands, and we get hurt over and over. Fear and sadness are stamped all over our faces, and we know it is wrong, it is a confirmed mistake, everything is so wrong, my mistakes, your mistakes, cowardness, humiliation, and destruction... Generally people (our political/church and other leaders, that talk so much and the most) are usually the same people that do nothing at all, or see nothing beyond their own ideas or beliefs… I believe and know that our road to goodness is where there may be many obstacles, which we often call stumbling blocks, or barriers, such as destroyed marriages, drugs, alcohol, death and sickness. These are obstacles that can stop us and push us over the edge, or show us the ultimate road that will finally lead us to our “rebirth”. Everything that is in us needed the right time to mature – our faith, our beliefs, our fears, our feelings, our ideas, our dreams. Nothing was born with us, or happened from one hour to the next. Everything about us has been moulded through time and the roads that we have taken, the company that we have kept, and the decisions we have made. We have been taught to live with the false, the hypocrite,
deceitful and the liar. After all, that is what society expects from us. But who could live with our revolt, our afflictions and arguments against this type of living? Nevertheless, throughout time, there have always been people with love and insight, with a certain light and glow. These people have also helped us into seeing the goodness and expecting nothing less than the beauty, the reality of happiness, the abundance in creation. During the happenings in our roller-coaster life styles, our world and lives sometimes collapse, there comes the time when things come to a sudden stop, that is when we start listening to our inner selves and know that this is not life, this is not what we want or deserve, we want more happiness, kindness, more understanding and the hope of a better life and future. Having hit the pit, we start to crawl out, allowing what was our “initial task/mission” to take over, we allow ourselves to go into an inward journey, spiritual or “soul searching” journey. This is the beginning of our rebirth, the “recalling of a faint and distant memory (our mission - given to us when we came to the world, but lost sight of it at the same time that we lost our innocence)”; we start seeing the world through clear eyes, we appreciate the beauty that surrounds us and try to make the world a happier and better place. Yes, no doubt that rebirth is every new day, a new sunrise and sunset, a new situation, a new job, a new creation, a new journey or the healing of a disease/illness. REBIRTH is the acceptance and courage to change. REBIRTH is “Man, seeking within himself”, “To start anew”, finding the strength to fight for his beliefs, and not allowing failures to become a motto. It is only when we can truly admit to our imperfections, that we can begin our journey to PERFECTION. To all of you my friends, I believe this is REBIRTH.
