How Nature Teaches Us to Heal

Have you ever stood beneath the vast canopy of trees in autumn, watching the leaves gently release their hold and float to the ground? Or listened to the rhythmic waves of the ocean, endlessly ebbing and flowing?

Nature is filled with powerful lessons on renewal, teaching us that healing is not a one-time event but an ongoing, cyclical process.

Just as the earth regenerates itself through the changing seasons, we too can embrace renewal, shedding what no longer serves us and making room for new growth

The Seasons as a Guide to Healing

Each season carries a spiritual message of transformation:

Autumn- Letting Go: Trees release their leaves, reminding us to surrender what no longer nourishes us- old wounds, toxic relationships, self-doubt

Winter- Rest & Reflection: The world slows down, offering us permission to pause, rest, and heal in stillness.

Spring: Rebirth & New Beginnings: Flowers bloom, the earth awakens, and we, too, can embrace new opportunities for growth \

Summer- Flourishing & Joy: The sun is at its peak, encouraging us to fully step into our power and celebrate our healing journey.

When we align our personal growth with the wisdom of nature, we move through healing with more grace and trust.

2. Water Teaches Us to Flow

Have you ever tried to grasp water in your hands? No matter how tightly you hold on, it slips through your fingers. Water teaches us to release control and surrender to the flow of life.

Rivers carve through mountains not by force, but by persistence. Healing is the samegentle yet powerful, requiring patience and trust in the journey

Ask yourself: Where in your life are you resisting change instead of flowing with it?

3. Trees Teach Us Strength & Resilience

A tree’s roots run deep, anchoring it firmly even when storms rage above. Yet, a tree does not resist the wind- it bends, adapting to the forces around it.

Lesson: Healing isn’t about avoiding pain but developing the resilience to withstand life’s storms. Just like a tree, we can be grounded in our truth while remaining flexible in how we navigate our journey.

Healing Practice: Try “Earthing” or grounding - walking barefoot on the earth to reconnect with nature’s energy and stabilize your emotions.

4. The Moon Reminds Us to Embrace Our Cycles

The moon moves through phases - waxing, waning, full, and new. Each phase has a purpose, and none are better than the others

Lesson: Your healing is cyclical. Some days you will feel radiant and whole (Full Moon), while other days you will need deep rest (New Moon) Honor your process

Healing Practice: Journal with the moon’s phases. Set intentions during the New Moon and reflect on your progress during the Full Moon.

5. The Power of Sunlight: Stepping Into Your Light

The sun rises every morning, no matter how dark the night before. It reminds us that healing brings light, warmth, and energy into our lives

Lesson: No matter how lost you feel, the light always returns. Healing isn’t linear, but your progress is real.

Healing Practice: Spend at least 10 minutes int he sun daily for a mood boost and vitamin D, essential for emotional balance.

Turning Pain into Power

The Hidden Power of Heartbreak

Heartbreak is one of the most profound and painful experiences we can endure. Whether it’s the end of a romantic relationship, the loss of a loved one, or an emotional betrayal, the pain feels overwhelming. But what if we told you that this heartbreak is not the end of your story- It is the beginning of a new chapter, where you can transform your pain into something powerful?

This article explores how to turn heartbreak into a powerful force for healing, growth, and self-discovery Because while heartbreak can feel like it can break you, it can also be the fuel that propels you towards your greatest transformation

STEP 1: FEEL IT FULLY- ALLOW YOURSELF TO GRIEVE

The first step in rising from heartbreak is to allow yourself to fully feel your emotions Too often, we try to numb or distract ourselves from pain- through work, social media, or even substances But healing cannot begin until we face the hurt directly

Grief is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of strength By acknowledging your feelings and allowing yourself to mourn, you honor the emotional process that is essential to healing

Reflection Exercise:

What emotions am I feeling right now- anger, sadness, betrayal?

What would it feel like to just sit with these emotions without judgment?

Allow yourself the space to cry, reflect, and simply be. Your heart will begin to heal when you let it.

STEP 2: RECONNECT WITH YOURSELF

In the aftermath of heartbreak, we often lose sight of who we are. Our sense of identity can become tangled with the relationship or experience that caused the pain. Now is the time to reconnect with the person you were before this pain consumed you- the version of yourself that is whole, strong, and capable of creating a new future.

Rediscover your passions What did you love before the heartbreak? Was there something you used to do that brought you joy, but you gave up? Start doing it again Whether it’s painting, hiking, dancing, or reading, bring back the things that filled you with light

Affirmation: ‘I am whole and complete I reconnect with my joy and my passions every day ’

By rediscovering the things that once made you feel alive, you can begin the process of healing and reclaiming your true self

STEP 2: RECONNECT WITH YOURSELF

Heartbreak often carries with it a sense of loss, but it also brings a chance to learn Every experience, no matter how painful, holds a lesson It may not be clear right away, but over time, you’ll start to see that your pain holds wisdom

Ask Yourself: What lessons have I learned from this heartbreak?

How did it shape me?

What boundaries or self-love practices do I need to implement moving forward?

How can this experience help me grow as a person?

Remember, you are not a victim of your circumstances; you are a student of life, gaining valuable insights that will make you stronger, wiser, and more resilient

STEP 2: RECONNECT WITH YOURSELF

One of the hardest parts of heartbreak is letting gowhether it’s letting go of the person, the dream, or the vision of the future you thought you would have. But holding on to what is no longer serving you only prevents you from embracing new possibilities.

This doesn’t mean you forget the past or condone any hurtful actions, but it means choosing to release the emotional weight that holds you back Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself, not the person who hurt you

HTGWM: Share a bit about your journey and what inspired you to become a coach focused on helping others radiate their best lives?

Edmonds: My journey began with faith and believing that God would order my steps At one of the lowest points in my life, I found myself lost, stuck, and unhappy. Childhood trauma left deep scars, making it difficult for me to trust others I saw ill intentions in everyone around me. In response, I built a wall to protect myself, but in doing so, I also isolated myself, leading to feelings of loneliness and self-doubt.

This emotional burden took a toll on me mentally. I was my own harshest critic, constantly tearing myself down. Looking back, I can now laugh about it, but at the time, it was an incredibly difficult space to be in However, I now understand that every challenge I faced was part of my greater purpose.

One day, in deep reflection, I prayed and told God, “I want better.” I decided to go back to school, thinking that earning another degree would be a step in the right direction. I initially enrolled in Business Administration, unsure of my true calling. However, before my first class even began, I sensed that I was in the wrong place I went back to the drawing board, reviewed the available programs, and landed on Mentoring and Coaching and for the first time in a long while, something felt right As I progressed through the program, I discovered my passion for helping others, providing support, and reminding people that they are not alone.

In 2021, I graduated with a master’s degree, yet I was still uncertain about my next steps. That’s when I turned to self-care, which led me on a transformative self-love journey. Through this process, I learned to love myself again, breaking free from the darkness that once consumed me

My personal breakthrough became my greatest inspiration. I realized that so many people in the world are strong but don’t recognize their strengths They need a cheerleader, a motivator, and an accountability partner someone to remind them of their power and help them push past their limitations.

This realization led me to create Radiate Your Power, a platform designed to ignite the power within each individual. Because when you tap into your true strength, you can live a life of happiness, confidence, and inner peace

HTGWM: What does “radiating your power” mean to you, and how can someone start embracing that mindset?

Edmonds: Radiating your life means you are happy where you are in life and you are at complete peace You are in control of your destiny and no longer letting the past affect your future negatively. It’s all about positive vibes.

HTGWM: Were there any pivotal moments in your life that shaped your perspective on personal growth and empowerment?

Edmonds: During my life I experienced childhood physical and sexual abuse which led to bad directions regarding the type of relationships I got myself in. I was married to a narcissist who emotionally abused me. After coming through all the sad and bad parts of life I just wanted to do better and be better. I am driven by the force of letting people know they are not alone

I face most of my dark moments alone, without support simply because I didn’t talk about it. I kept it all inside and would just get upset at God We had many conversations. He said child you are hardheaded, lol, but you gonna learn, and I did learn. The moment I realized my purpose in life was the changing point for me. I knew my purpose was to empower people to grow above it Too many of God’s soldiers are being lost. I made it, now I’m reaching out to help the next person.

HTGWM: What are some common mindset blocks that prevent people from fully stepping into their power, and how can they overcome them?

Edmonds: I believe one common mindset block is the fear of failure. I know I have been stuck in the same place for a long time because I was fearful of the unknown and the “what-if” I failed. You can overcome this by reframing failure as a learning opportunity. I encourage small, courageous actions and celebrate progress rather than perfection. Just take the leap of faith, it is well worth it Another common mindset block would be a lack of self-worth.

When you feel unworthy or not good enough you can keep yourself from fully embracing your full potential You can build on self-worth by practicing selfaffirmations, setting personal boundaries, and surrounding yourself with uplifting environments that reinforce your values.

Healthy boundaries are so important and it's okay to say no. Tell them, yes, I said no, lol. Some others include fear of judgment, overthinking, and falling into the comparison trap. I know staying in the familiar, even if it’s unfulfilling, feels safer than stepping into the unknown. Sometimes we just have to take gradual steps outside our comfort zone to keep moving forward. Growth happens in discomfort, so embrace challenges as a part of your evolution.

HTGWM: How does self-love and self-worth play a role in radiating confidence and joy?

Edmonds: Self-love and self-worth are the foundation of confidence and joy. When you truly love and value yourself, you no longer seek external validation to feel worthy you know your worth from within. Some key facts to consider:

1. Inner Validation Leads to True Confidence –When you embrace who you are, flaws and all, you no longer depend on others' approval. This self-assurance naturally radiates confidence.

2. Boundaries Protect Your Energy – Knowing your worth means setting healthy boundaries, which allows you to prioritize your well-being and attract respect from others.

3. Authenticity Becomes Effortless – When you love yourself, you stop pretending to be someone you’re not You embrace your uniqueness, which draws people in and exudes a magnetic presence.

4. A Positive Mindset Cultivates Joy – Selflove shifts your perspective. Instead of focusing on lack, you appreciate your strengths and growth, creating a mindset of gratitude and happiness.

5. You Show Up Boldly – Self-worth gives you the courage to pursue opportunities, speak up, and take action without fear of judgment. Your confidence naturally shines through

6. You Attract Healthy Relationships – Loving yourself sets the standard for how others treat you. When you value yourself, you attract relationships that uplift and empower you.

7. You Handle Setbacks with Grace – Instead of beating yourself up over failures, self-love helps you see them as lessons, allowing you to bounce back stronger.

HTGWM: Can you share any morning or evening rituals that help maintain high vibrations and a positive mindset?

Edmonds: Starting and ending your day with intentional rituals can help maintain high vibrations, cultivate a positive mindset, and set the tone for success. Practice gratitude in the morning. Before getting out of bed, list 3 things you’re grateful for. Gratitude instantly shifts your energy.

Use affirmations in the morning as well. Speak or write empowering affirmations like “I am worthy, ” “I attract abundance, ” or “Today is filled with joy. ” Don’t forget to hydrate and nourish your body. Drink a glass of water (bonus: with lemon for detox benefits) and fuel your body with a nutrient-rich breakfast. Journaling, meditation, and exercising are all good morning rituals for high vibes and positivity. Write down your goals, dreams, or thoughts, or visualize yourself achieving your desires with ease.

5. You Show Up Boldly – Self-worth gives you the courage to pursue opportunities, speak up, and take action without fear of judgment Your confidence naturally shines through.

I face most of my dark moments alone, without support simply because I didn’t talk about it. I kept it all inside and would just get upset at God. We had many conversations. He said child you are hard-headed, lol, but you gonna learn, and I did learn. The moment I realized my purpose in life was the changing point for me. I knew my purpose was to empower people to grow above it. Too many of God’s soldiers are being lost. I made it, now I’m reaching out to help the next person.

Now for your end-of-day routine, you can also journal to reflect and release. Journal about your day, focusing on wins, lessons, and things you’re grateful for. Let go of any negativity. You can practice self-care rituals. Take a warm bath, do skincare, or engage in any soothing self-care routine that relaxes your mind and body. I would also encourage rituals like limiting your screen time, listening to calming music or something inspiring, saying a prayer, and expressing gratitude.

End your day by thanking the universe, God, or yourself for the day’s experiences. Last but not least, I recommend setting up your intentions for tomorrow Write down 3 things you want to focus on the next day so you wake up with clarity and purpose. When you constantly practice these rituals, you’ll maintain a high vibrational state, strengthen your mindset, and radiate positivity effortlessly.

HTGWM: What advice do you have for women who feel stuck or uninspired in their current life or career?

Edmonds: For women who feel stuck or uninspired in their life or career, the key is to reconnect with their power, purpose, and passion. Here are 10 things you can do.

Sixth, prioritize self-care and reflection. Burnout and stagnation often stem from neglecting yourself. Make time for self-care, journaling, meditation, or anything that brings you joy and clarity.

Seventh, seek guidance and mentorship. Sometimes, we need an outside perspective. Whether it’s a coach, mentor, or supportive friend, talking about your goals can bring fresh ideas and motivation

Eighth, be open to new possibilities. Your dream job or passion may look different than you expected. Stay open to exploring new paths, skills, or even entrepreneurial opportunities.

First, acknowledge & accept your feelings. Feeling stuck is a sign that growth is calling you. Instead of suppressing it, embrace it as an opportunity for transformation.

Second, reconnect with your “Why” . Ask yourself: What lights me up? What did I once dream of doing? Reconnect with the passions and goals that once excited you.

Third, shift your mindset. Break free from limiting beliefs like “I’m not good enough” or “It’s too late.” Replace them with empowering affirmations like “I am capable of creating change” and “I am in control of my life ”

Fourth, take small steps towards change. You don’t have to have it all figured out today. Take small, actionable steps whether it’s signing up for a class, networking, or updating your resume Progress is key

Fifth, surround yourself with inspiration. Join empowering communities, read personal growth books, and listen to podcasts that uplift and motivate you. Energy is contagious immerse yourself in environments that spark creativity

Nine, take bold, aligned action steps Fear and self-doubt may arise, but don’t let them hold you back. Confidence comes from action, not waiting for the “perfect time.” Trust yourself and make a move.

Lastly, number ten, own your power and rewrite your story You are not stuck—you are evolving. This is your chance to redefine your life on your terms. Trust the process, embrace change, and step into the next chapter of your greatness. You are worthy of a life that excites you so go create it!

One powerful lesson I want to leave with you is this: You are worthy, exactly as you are, and you have the power to create the life you desire. Too often, we wait for the “right time,” the perfect circumstances, or someone else’s approval before stepping into our greatness. But the truth is, your power has always been within you. The moment you start believing in yourself, setting boundaries, and choosing self-love over self-doubt, you’ll begin to radiate confidence, joy, and abundance.

Stop waiting. Start becoming. Trust your journey, embrace your uniqueness, and remember—you are unstoppable.
