HDCH Wardrobe Policy
Goals:
1. TopresentourselvesbothinschoolandoutinthecommunityasambassadorsofHDCH.
2. TopresentourselvesaslearnersinaChristianenvironment,professionallyandappropriately.
3. Tocommittobeingpresentandreadytolearninourschoolenvironment.
Expectations:
1. StudentsareexpectedtobeintheirHDCHwardrobeatthe8:55bellandremainsountil 3pm,theendoftheschoolday. Thisincludes“spares,”breaks,andlunchhour
Wardrobe Basics:
TOPS:
● StudentsmustwearaMcCarthyshirtorMcCarthyHDCHsweatshirt.Shirtoptions include:

Important Clarifications
● Black,brown,orgreypants/shortsarenotacceptableforuniformuse
● Hats,bandanas,andwintercapsmaynotbewornduringtheschoolday
● Ourdresscodeappliestoschooltrips,unlessotherwisestatedbytheteacher
● Specialclothingdesignedforclubs,teams,orclassesmayonlybewornonFridays
● SeniorclasssweatshirtsmaybeworndailybyGrade12students,providedtheyhavethe HDCHappliquedlogoonthechestandhavebeenapprovedbytheVicePrincipal
Other Considerations:
➢ WEARandREPAIR:
○ Clothingmustbewornasdesigned
○ Nounderclothingmaybeshowing
○ Itemsmustbecleanandingoodrepair
○ Clean,appropriateshoesmustbewornatalltimes
○ Courserelatedclothing(e.g.PE)willbeworninthoseclassesonly.
○ Inurgentsituations,theremaybeemergencywardrobepiecesavailabletoborrow. Emergencywardrobeisnotintendedtoreplaceaforgottenuniform;thisis consistentwiththeexpectationthatstudentsarrivedressedinuniform.
➢ SPECIALDRESSDAYS:
○ StudentCouncilisresponsibleforrequestingspecialdressdays.
○ Criteriaforspecialdressdayswillbeintheannouncementsbeforethedate.

● Topsmustcoverthemidriffandhaveanappropriateneckline
● Hatsmaynotbeworninthebuildingunlesstheyarepartofaspecial themeddressday
Procedure for Non-Compliance
1. Ifastudentisoutofuniformduringthesetimes,non-uniformitemswillbetakendirectly totheoffice.Thestudentcanpicktheitemupattheendofthedayfromtheoffice.
2. Ifasecondinfractionoccurs,thenon-uniformitemwillbetakentotheoffice,and parents/guardianswillbenotified.Thenon-uniformitemwillremainintheofficeuntil theparent/guardianpicksthemuppersonally.
