Exhibition: Titanic – The Artifact Exhibition, through October 27 The Artifact Exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the 100-year history of Titanic. The exhibition features countless stories of heroism and humanity that pay honor to the incredible stories and people on the Titanic. From construction, launching, and life on board to the tragic sinking and dramatic rescue of some 700 people, the Exhibition concludes with the amazing discovery of the ship 73 years after its sinking, and highlighting the innovative recovery and conservation efforts made over the last 25 years. The 30th annual event features the Indian Traders Market featuring aisles of shopping, native foods and music, and the crowning of Miss Indian World. UNM Arena, www.gatheringofnations. com 34th Annual American Indian Week: Pueblo Days, April 20 – 28 This week-long celebration of dance and other events celebrates Pueblo Indian tribes and other American Indian heritage. The week includes two Indian art markets, sales in the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center gift shop, specials in the Pueblo Harvest Café & Bakery, a children’s art show and the popular daily dance performances of tribes from New Mexico and the Southwest. Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, www.indianpueblo.org Albuquerque Wine Festival, May 25 – 27 The New Mexico Wine Growers Association will host the Albuquerque Wine Festival at Balloon Fiesta Park over Memorial Day weekend. The annual event will showcase a wide variety of award-winning New Mexico wines in a relaxed, park-like setting with live music, international food and crafts vendors. The event features national blues artist Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials Band. Relax on the Balloon Museum’s lawn with its incredible view of the Sandia Mountains while enjoying a great afternoon of blues, plus food and drinks from local vendors. Festival Flamenco Internacional de Albuquerque, June 10 – 15 Each June, the National Institute of Flamenco hosts Festival Flamenco Internacional de Albuquerque, bringing the finest flamenco artists in the world to Albuquerque and featuring a number of workshops and performances. For seven days, the city is filled with the pulse of flamenco, and is transformed into a cultural epicenter for the art form. Various Locations, http://www.ffi26.org/ Summer Nights and Zoo Music Concert Series, June 13 – August 29 Summer Nights (Thursdays) and Zoo Music (Fridays) concert series showcase local, regional, national and international talent playing a variety of music, including country Latin rock, Afro-Cuban, Celtic, bluegrass, Cajun and pop rock in either the BioPark Botanic Gardens or the BioPark Zoo. During the family-friendly concerts, relax on the lawn, stroll the grounds, see the animals, enjoy a magic show, or check out the Garden’s model train. ACE will feature independent and professional comic book creators, celebrities, voice actors, video game creators, animators, and more. Nob Hill, http://rt66central.com/index.html USA Roller Sports Speed, Figure and Rink Hockey National Championships, July 13 – August 4 USA Roller Sports will take over the Albuquerque Convention Center for three weeks with events including inline speed skating, rink hockey and roller figure skating competitions during the summer nationals. Competition divisions range from youth through masters level competitors in their 70s.
