BECOMING AN ENDORSING ORGANIZATION OR ASSOCIATION

Do you have employees or association members not covered by a group health or dental plan?
Do you have employees or association members losing their benefits at retirement?

With the growing costs of medical expenses and the need to protect their income, many individuals who are not covered under a traditional group benefit plan lack cost-effective options for health and dental coverage.
The Solution
Corsana is a unique program of true group benefits specifically designed for employees, retirees, and association members not receiving benefits and are lacking the protection of comprehensive health and dental coverage. Unlike virtually any other group plan, it is available to individual employees, retirees and association members and their families on a voluntary basis. There is NO COST for an organization or association to endorse the Corsana Group Benefits Plan, as the program is fully paid by the employee, retiree, or association member.
The Corsana Group benefits plan is offered exclusively to employees, retirees and members* of an endorsing organization or association.
What does it mean to be an endorsing organization or association?
It means that by agreeing to communicate the availability of the Corsana plan, eligible participants have access to benefits offered exclusively to endorsing organizations or associations. Eligible participants receive more robust health coverage, should they apply within 60 days of hire date, within 60 days of becoming an association member or 60 days of loss of group health coverage.
Is there any added cost to my organization or association?
No! Monthly premiums are the responsibility of the enrollee.
Who is eligible for the Corsana product?
Eligible participants are employees or association members not receiving similar benefits as part of their compensation. Employees or association members who are retiring or losing benefits are also eligible to receive coverage through Corsana.
Eligible participants must be from an endorsing organization or association. Eligible participants must be actively at work and retirees must have retired from active employment (not on any type of leave like a disability).
How does Corsana differ from any other individual health and dental plan?
Individual plans have slightly different rules, and although Corsana is offered on a voluntary basis like an individual plan, we function like a true group benefits program. This allows us to offer more robust coverage to new hires or new association members within a 60 day open window.
Does Corsana offer any other benefits in addition to health and dental?
Yes! Depending on your needs, if you meet the right criteria, and at your request, we can provide additional guaranteed benefits. It can be a benefit that is included with employer compensation, an association membership fee, or possibly an additional voluntary benefit paid for by the employee or association member.
Corsana & Our Partners
Corsana is owned and operated by HMA The BENEFITS People, which was established in 1984.

The plan is modeled on the Health Care Providers Group Insurance Plan which was launched in 1997 at the Oshawa General Hospital (now Lakeridge Health Oshawa) and has grown to include over 145 hospital sites and 90 hospital systems.
The Corsana Team is supported by a strong group of client focused individuals, including our plan partner, GreenShield Insurance*, who plays an integral role in the Corsana plan.

What does it mean to be an Endorsing Organization or Association?
Becoming an endorsing organization or association gives you the opportunity to offer a 60-day open window to eligible participants. A 60-day open window offers better guaranteed coverage.
60 day open windows are offered the first 60 days within the initial implementation period, 60 days from date of hire for new employees, 60 days from date of joining association, 60 days from loss of existing coverage (through spouse, at retirement, attainment of term age for full time benefits or transfer from full-time employment).
Support from a team of service professionals, there to assist you and your employees or members at any time.
Option for our team to attend wellness events, fairs, information sessions or other special occasions.
Availability of marketing and promotional material to help support you in your endeavour to communicate the plan to your employees or members.
Gives you the opportunity to offer our proprietary product reserved exclusively for endorsing organizations or associations.
Becoming an Endorsing Organization or Association is Easy
Determine Initial 60 Day Open Window Time Frame – Pick a 60 day time frame (initial implementation period) starting on the first of a month that works for your organization or association. Your endorsement date is equal to that start date. During the initial 60- day open window, all eligible active employees or association members would be guaranteed the complete or complete plus health plan with no medical questions.
Who’s Eligible to Apply during the initial open window? – Any eligible participant without group benefit coverage. The initial open window is not extended to retirees unless you have a group of retirees that you are still in contact with and that you can provide a list to Corsana ahead of the open enrollment. Employees or association members must be actively at work (not on disability or maternity leave) to be eligible.
Communication is Key! – The key to a successful implementation is communicating the open window to all eligible employees or association members. Corsana provides all marketing material.
Open Window Letter – To be sent out digitally by the organization or association to all eligible participants. Open window letters will include links to a unique web page created for the initial open window.
Webinars – Corsana will host several information sessions during the initial open window period.
Reminders – To be sent out digitally by the organization or association to all eligible participants during the open window period.
Enrollment Packages – We will provide digital versions of the enrollment package.
Corsana One Sheet – We will provide you with both digital and print copies of the Corsana One Sheet.
Laminated Posters – Can provide posters that are specific to the open enrollment.
Digital Newsletter Assets - We will provide content in the form of announcements and content for your publication.
My Organization or Association is Now Endorsing
Communication is still key! - Once your organization or association is endorsing, you continue to communicate the availability of the Corsana program to eligible participants because 60 day open windows don’t end at implementation! It is also offered to eligible participants within 60 days from date of hire for new employees, 60 days from date of joining association, 60 days from loss of existing group coverage (through a spouse, at retirement, or attainment of term age for full time benefits or transfer from full time employment).
It is crucial that HR or membership liaison informs eligible participants when they could be eligible for an open window by mentioning Corsana in the offer, transfer, retiree or new membership letters. We will provide you with suggested wording.
Form Completion – We require documentation to confirm if an eligible participant is in an open window. When the eligible participant submits an enrollment they can provide a copy of their offer, transfer, benefit loss or retiree letter which will include the date of the change or you may have an employee or member reach out to you from time to time asking you to complete a 60 day offer form on their behalf. It is a very simple short form and we will provide you with both digital and print copies. For association members we will require confirmation of membership registration.
Marketing Material – Corsana will continue to provide you with marketing material to help get the word out about the program. If you run out, please let us know.
What if an employee or association member enrolled on the plan needs to cancel or make a change to the Corsana coverage? - Employees, association members or retirees that have enrolled in the plan are responsible for updating Corsana of any changes to their employment status or circumstances including, change of address, name, family composition, banking information or any significant change.
