We had a great turnout for our Autumn Social at Bierhaus Maisschäler on September 17. It was a perfect evening to be out on the rooftop and spend time with fellow members. Family Night is right around the corner. So make plans to bring your family and join us at Roca Berry Farm on October 19 for a fun filled evening. Tickets are required for this event, so be sure to check out the information on page 9. Well, it’s time for the Fall Parade of Homes. We are excited to share the 24 homes built by 17 HBAL member builders. Across all the homes, you will find many unique features that have been worked on by our talented builders, designers, subcontractors and suppliers. A lot of work goes into completing a Parade home and we appreciate the work done to help this event continue to be successful. We hope to see many of you visiting us during the Parade which is October 6-13. New hours for the Parade are weekends 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. and weeknights 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
I will leave you with some words of encouragement:
“Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice.”

The Ridge Complete Home Renovation
August 28, 2024
Jason Willet Remodelers Council Chairperson
It always amazes me how fast time goes by this time of year. Kids are back in school, sports are in full swing and the holidays will soon be here. Fall is also a time to make plans and set goals for the new year. If you haven’t already done so, be sure to get your exhibitor contract in for the Nebraska Builders Home & Garden Show. We have participated in this event as long as I can remember, and we appreciate being able to meet new customers and visit with past clients. One thing that will be different this year is we will not be putting up the Food Bank House. Instead, HBAL will be donating 10% of ticket sales to the Food Bank of Lincoln.
The next Remodelers Council Meeting is October 2. Matt Firestone, Jereme Montgomery and Bo Jones will be speaking about how they are Recruiting the Next Generation. On November 6, we’ll be touring CenterPointe's Trabert Hall renovation, and for our Holiday Party on December 11, we will have music bingo. Be sure to mark those dates on your calendar!
The Remodelers Council toured a complex residential remodeling project in The Ridge for our August 28 meeting. Special thanks to Tru-Built Construction (and the homeowners!) for allowing us to see the home. The project included restructuring the interior, moving stairs and load-bearing walls and new footings in the basement.
