Compassion is everything when it comes to nursing a sick person back to health. It’s worth its weight in gold to have compassionate people working on staff at a hospital. It sets the stage for healing to begin and even has the ability to change the heart of a person who doesn’t want to be in the hospital! It can cause them to better accept the medical expertise he or she desperately needs. And then there’s Joe Lehr, a Security Guard at Monongahela Valley Hospital, who has taken that word “security” to a new level. Joe’s heart of compassion attests to the healing properties compassion can secure. His random acts of kindness make for a more “hospitable hospital stay” as he bumps into people, handing out “peace” like its candy. Joe survived brain cancer and openly proclaims, “I made it through and so can you!”

He had to contend with a birth defect his entire life which was then complicated by brain tumors. Doctors predicted he would live 6 months, but instead, he lived for 12 more years. You will read “Gary’s own words” that he typed himself that has since become his “Legacy of Love. And then there’s Bill Sudor, who passed away in 2015. Bill is being remembered as a man who loved to make people laugh, but there was something about him that drew the “famous” to him. Between his creativity and his magnetism, he made friends with people, including President John F. Kennedy.

Our son was three years old when we opened. That was tough for a little guy to spend the whole day there, but he was happy to play with a “game boy” in the corner. When someone came in to the flower shop and spoke to him he always God completely for the success of the business and to be able to ride out the duration of a lease in a commercial space, my wife and I worked very hard at the flower shop while still working our full time jobs and raising two small children.

In the floral business you get to share in joy, sorrow, the happiness and the worries of your customers, you become in some small way a part of them and what they are experiencing at that particular time, an emotional inner circle if only for a moment or a day. If

would put the gameboy down and go over to them and say: “Hello, my name is Justin, nice to meet you.” I can remember how people would come in and ask for prayer (truly a God thing), and if my wife was working on a delivery, Justin would become my prayer partner.

them to the person asking for prayer. Looking back, I realized this was not your average retail business.

I am often taken back when a memory comes to mind of a seemingly innocent incident that turned into a “random act of kindness.” I recall the day

being much like today- a hot summer afternoon. It was late, almost time to close. The next day was going to be a busy one.

There was a large order coming in, so I was preparing buckets of water and solution, wiping out the display cooler and moving things around.

There was one flower in a bucket, a light yellow Ecuadorian rose with pink edges that was opened the whole way and it looked so lonesome in that tall floral bucket all by itself; the head drooped just a little. I couldn’t bring myself to discard it. There was just something about that rose. I recut the bottom of the stem, put it in its own crystal budvase and placed it on its own shelf, prominently displayed against the black walls of the cooler. I marveled at the delicate perfect petals, soft as satin, and how the rose held its head high, the black background intensifying every part of that flower.

A lady came in to look around. I spoke and she said nothing, so I kept working. I looked up and she had her forehead leaned against the glass on the cooler window, staring at the yellow rose. I saw a tear roll down her cheek as she turned to walk away. I ran to her before she got to

the door and grabbed the small vase and handed it to her. I placed it in her hand and said “please take this. I want you to have it, please.” She whispered thank you and walked out.

Two years passed before I saw her again. I was making an early delivery to the college close by and came out of an office and she was standing there in front of me. I was startled and she put her hand on my chest and said, “It was you!” Then I remembered!

She went on to tell me that she had just lost her mother after a long illness and was at the District Court handling a matter. “It was the worst and loneliest day of my life.” she said. “When I came out of that court and noticed the rose in the cooler, I had to come in.

You will NEVER know what your kindness meant to me that day! Thank you!” And then she was gone!

The beauty of the Lord stands out in contrast to “ANY” darkness you may be going through. You are NOT alone. A “random act of kindness” presents itself in many ways-- a word, a smile, a rose. May your compassion for another stand out like the beauty of a rose against the black walls of a cooler- placed on a shelf. Let this be the same illustration of the excellence offered to bring hope and joy to someone today.

For several years now, I’ve had a stirring in my heart to bring everybody together in one place--people who had been featured in Jubilee News throughout the years, and host a celebration of the wonderful things God has done for them!

Well, it’s finally going to happen, on September 23rd, 2016, and I was blown away when Pastor Frank Todaro of Bible Alliance in West Newton, PA, also a regular sponsor of this publication, gifted us with the place where it will all happen! It will be called: “A Jubilee Celebration”!

So much has been happening that has led up to the hosting of such an event. First of all, it’s literally “historical” because it’s being held in the actual “Year of Jubilee” on the anniversary date that the first Jubilee News publication was released for the first time. Back in 2005, God called me to raise up a publication that would report on ‘“God interventions” that happen to people when they pray, many of them who were in dire straits. Ever since I answered God’s call on my life, I have never had to “scout” out any story.

Many times I get the “exclusive” and the stories always

come to me.

I have been in the process of writing a book called:“God’s Rising Stars”. which will be a compilation of many of the stories I have covered in Jubilee News.

Lord willing, it will be available at this event, otherwise, you’ll be able to order a copy.

“Voice of the Bride” will also be there. They are absolutely fantastic and Marcia Rhodes will lead us in worship into a place where healings and miracles take place! Carolyn Lacek will be doing prophetic art and Donna Ziegler, prophetic dance. Inspirational testimonies will be given by different people who have experienced a major divine intervention in their lives. The course their sickness was taking, was interrupted when a turn around moment was brought into place.

It’s never too late in life to make some small changes that can in the long run, enrich or change your life.

Being a massage therapist for many years, I have met a lot of different people and have learned a lot from the people I have done massage with. I want to share with you a story about a client of mine that a few years ago started coming to me weekly for massage therapy. She was in a terrible place in her life—“a rut where she wasn’t really living, but just existing.

She is a counselor in her 60’s that has an established practice helping people with depression and anxiety. Her name is Helen.

Helen came to me saying: “I don’t know Jan. I feel tired all the time. I have no energy to do very much except

She said, “I just feel so good! I got a new hairstyle-a new blonde hair color.”

She looked beautiful! She had on makeup and a very stylish outfit. She said, “I bought a goldfish today and started a small aquarium in my office. Do you know what I named my goldfish?” Anticipating what this name could be, she said: “Hope!” She shared that “Hope” seemed to be the perfect name for the fish because she always tries to instill hope into people that were giving up on their lives in her practice.

But then she said, “I am celebrating the NEW ME—THE NEW HOPE—THE NEW ENERGY I now have! I am no longer the tired older woman complaining about my body hurting.”

What began with one massage became a seed that was planted to help her to grow into the person she was meant to be. Transformation! It can happen to anyone at any time! All you need to do is to make one little positive change in your life that will plant a seed. And it’s very possible that a chain of reactions could happen to you just like it did for Helen. But this transformation didn’t happen overnight. It was a gradual change with each new thing Helen tried. It took her to a different level of growth. So something as simple as getting a massage can turn on the power from within you. While you are laying there getting a massage, as you are relaxed, you may get some new ideas for your life. Massage is about relaxing and helping with pain, but it’s also for calming the mind to slow down just a bit, so you can hear what your body is saying to you. Helen heard HOPE.

However, Joe wasn’t always a security guard at this hospital, having moved to Virginia for a few years. Joe shared, “On February 4th, 2014, I had lived in Virginia for four years and was working and I chose to become homeless and sleep in a lodge, a 100 acre retreat center that

was wooded property with the church I attended. I spent hours alone with God, reaching a level of intimacy with Jesus that I had never had before. There was much healing that took place for me along with a new level of boldness and [spiritual] authority that I began to walk in.

“In May of 2014, I took a leap of faith and left an overwhelming job I had.

Much was expected of me and I prayed and told God I physically, mentally and emotionally could not do this job any more. I heard God say: ‘Step out’. And I told God, ‘I don’t have any

In this edition of “Celebration of Life,” we are honoring the Lives of:

These two individuals may have never met, but there is one thing that is consistent between both of them: Both loved people and enjoyed their relationships with everyone they met; and they saw the “good” in everybody.

Gary Schenck had to contend with a birth defect that many knew nothing about. It was his private battle that he never allowed to pull him down. He was raised by two loving parents who believed in him and never saw him as “disabled”. His devoted father was his role model and inspiration in life, and his mother taught him that God had made him in such a way, that he would always be able to handle whatever came his way. But then Cathy Smith entered the last season of his life, making for his grand finale. Together, they faced life’s struggles, both complementing the other and being there for one another. Gary loved Chesapeake Bay, and the “cover” is a sunset over the bay, something Gary would have loved.

Then there was Bill Sudor, another man who led a full life, but one that many knew nothing about. There was something very special about this man as well. He had a flair for bumping into the “famous” --celebrities and movie stars, and then cultivating a friendship with them along with the elite. Perhaps it was his humble way of living that seemed to conceal his “almost secret life” from so many. Yet, there were many news articles written about this man, probably because of his natural magnetism he possessed that automatically drew people to him. Bill Sudor loved life, and his aim in life was to play jazz, make people laugh, and connect with others on a ground that was comfortable for everyone. He was a novelty salesman who never had to try to sell a thing!

His “grin” did it all for him.

Gary G. Schenck, 60, of Scottdale, passed away, Friday, March 4, 2016, in Excela Westmoreland Hospital. Gary was born Nov. 28, 1955, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late James G. Schenck Sr. and Sarah (Leaman) Schenck, of Scottdale. Gary was a graduate of Southmoreland High School Class of 1974 and Penn State University.

He was a licensed real estate appraiser having operated Colonial Appraisal Services. He had formerly been employed as a vice president for Farm Credit Bank of Baltimore, Md., and was also employed by Production Credit Association, working in the New Stanton, Latrobe and Uniontown offices. Gary was a member of the Alverton United Methodist Church as was an outdoor enthusiast participating in running, tennis, skiing, fishing and golf. He also enjoyed good conversation. Locally, Gary was in-

strumental in construction of the Laurel Highlands YMCA where he served on the board and as president of the board. Gary is survived by his mother, Sarah "Sally" Schenck; his three brothers, James Schenck Jr. and wife, Joyce, and their children, Lara and Ben; Robert Schenck and his partner, William Chang, and their children, Isabel and Evan; and Rand Schenck and wife, Elaine, and their children, Andrew, Thomas and Julie; and Gary's longtime friend and companion, Cathy L. Smith.

Family and friends are welcome from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at GRAFT-JACQUILLARD FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 303 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. Gary's funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home at the conclusion of visitation with the Rev. Thomas Shirer officiating.

Private committal services and interment will take place Saturday in the Scottdale Cemetery.

I have very fond memories of my brother, Gary, especially in my younger years in the 1970’s. We would play one-on-one football for hours in the backyard. We’d go fishing in our two ponds for large mouth bass and play the baseball catch game: Five hundred. We enjoyed running together and going to the Dairy Queen in Mt. Pleasant, during those hot and humid Pennsylvania summer evenings.

A TRIBUTE TO GARY SCHENCK

Celebration of Life

When Gary was born, he weighed only 6 lbs; this was back in November of 1955. But his mother, Sarah (Sally) would come home from West Penn Hospital empty-handed without a baby in her arms.

Gary was born with a birth defect, an intestinal malformation that demanded intense medical attention— even surgery. Sally and her husband Jim, were devastated and concerned beyond words. The hardest part for Sally was that she wouldn’t be able to cuddle or hold him as she had envisioned because visitations were not permitted back then. But Dr. Elmer King, pediatrician said to Sally and Jim: “You go home to be with your other baby and I’ll take care of this baby.”

Gary’s brother, Jimmy was only one and half at the time and it wouldn’t be until six weeks later that Gary would finally get to come home.

The memory of first seeing their tiny baby boy with part of his intestine sitting out on his belly was difficult, but caring for his special need would become second nature to them. Sally shared, “Gary came home still weighing 6 lbs. and he had a Mohawk. He had dark hair in the middle of his head and on either side of his head it was shaved, because that’s where they had to insert the IV’s. I thought: ‘How can I make up for all this lost time?’ Here was this little thing, only six weeks old, but I can remember how he looked up at me and his mouth just

opened [so wide] and he gurgled and cooed.”

Gary was a happy baby and as he grew, he had to have further surgeries to further correct this defect.

But at the same time, it was a part of who he was and was simply accepted. It was never looked upon as a disability by the family.

Sally also emphasized that Gary “never fussed about it.”

Meanwhile, the Schenck family continued to grow.

A little over four years later in 1959, Robert was born and then came Rand in 1964. After Rand was born, their family was complete.

Jim, Gary’s father was a mechanical engineer, and the family moved around a lot. They lived in Bethel Park, Pleasant Hills, California, Pittsburgh and then Upper St. Clair. But Gary’s father always had a dream of owning a farm, and in 1970, his dream came true. The family put down roots and moved to a farm in Scottdale, PA where they would finish raising their

sons. Gary loved farm life!

In this final move, the boys were introduced to a new school district. Sally recalled, “Gary was in high school at the time and the

officials wanted to have a meeting with us about Gary.

The gentleman we met said things like: ‘Gary has a disability and there are certain programs and financial help we could get from the government.’ But my husband stood up and said, “We do not consider that Gary has a

disability. We will be able to help him and we do not want him to go through life thinking he is disabled.’”

Gary’s father always encouraged him since he was a young child, recognizing the many obstacles that were before him. He would tell Gary how special he was and that no matter how different he was from other people, he could be anything he wanted to be. Gary loved running and was an active member of the track team in high school.

Later, he would become a long distance runner, racing in competitions with his older brother Jimmy. Gary’s tight bond with his father would remain strong throughout his adult life.

Gary always spoke with great admiration about his father who was his role model and inspiration. Sally stated, “We never gave Gary special treatment because we figured Gary could get along and do whatever he needed to do.

Jim was a good father to him.”

As Gary grew, he endured 16 surgeries until

he was 16. During this time, Dr. Elmer King had taken him under his wing, being there for him from the moment he was born. Sally shared, “Dr. King would come to West Penn just for Gary to operate on him, and the nurses would always make such a fuss over him.

But Gary always had a tender spot for Dr. King. He was a very special doctor.”

Dr. King was always the last face Gary would see before going under anesthesia and the first face he would see upon waking up from surgery.

Several months after his final surgery in 1974, Gary graduated from Southmoreland High School and went on to college to obtain a BS degree in Real Estate at Penn State.

In his late 20’s, Gary contacted Dr. King’s office and asked the receptionist if he could schedule an appointment to speak with him. As an adult, he wanted to thank Dr. King for all he had done for him.

It was an afternoon appointment and when Gary arrived, no people were sitting in the waiting room.

The receptionist said: “Dr. King is waiting for you.

You must be somebody very special! He cleared his afternoon schedule just to talk to you so you could stay as long as you’d like!”

Gary later shared about that visit, “You know, I always thought Dr. King was huge, because I was just a little boy. But he wasn’t as tall as me! And he gave me a -See next page-

big hug!” Dr. King wanted to hear all about Gary’s life and what he had become.

Then, the doctor opened a file drawer and pulled out a folder that he called his “short and sweet file.” Inside were letters and pictures from children he had treated. Together, they reminisced about the past, pulling out the letters Gary wrote to him as a child after his surgeries. Gary was glad he reunited with him.

In 1992, he lost his best friend and father to ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). At his funeral, he told his mother that he had promised his dad that he would take care of her.

Soon afterwards, he purchased a farm nearby, so he could fulfill his promise to his father.

One of the most impressive things about Gary was the way he carried himself. He never gave anybody a chance to focus on the obstacles he had in life.

He hid them well, because his focus was on “living life to its fullest.”

In his later years he would use his physical challenges to inspire others. (see next page) But there was one great parallel in his life that cannot be overlooked. Gary was a long distance runner who loved to run races. But when it came to his race in life, Gary also knew how to run the distance. He would leap over roadblocks that were in his way and keep on going, because that’s who Gary Schenck was! He was a long distance runner who wouldn’t stop running both physically and spiritually.

And Gary won the prize at the end.

THE “FISH GUT TEST”

The SCHENCK family would take family vacations during the late 1950’s to Toms River, N.J. to visit our family. My earliest memory of GARY SCHENCK, my darling cousin, was the startling competition between boys and girls called the “Fish Gut Test”... created by Gary who had all brothers in his family.

He challenged my sister and I to catch the fish, clean the fish, put the guts in a bucket, and clean our hands in the fish guts.

What do you know, but to Gary’s surprise, the female cousins passed the fish gut test. This taught Gary that girls could be just as tough as the boys (equality of woman), and we continued to laugh about it into adulthood.

The SCHENCK cousins... especially Gary, were also very good at spitting green peas-fights at dinnertime.

We had a blast together as cousins, whether it was at Indian Lake, Pittsburgh, Scottdale, Toms River, or Conneaut.

It is with tears in my eyes that I say that Gary was the kindest, most gregarious, thoughtful, spirited, special and greatest cousin one could ever dream of.

My love for Gary will never change whether on earth or in Heaven.

GARY’S LEGACY OF LOVE Celebration of Life

Every Sunday morning at a pavilion at Buttonwood Beach R.V. Resort, the United Methodist Church beach ministry would hold a church service. Cathy, Gary’s love of his life, would visit her mother who resided there during the summers. Cathy shared, “Gary gave a testimonial about six years ago on the beach at this resort. He talked about his life and what it was like growing up with all his health issues; how he ended up with a brain tumor and how I came into his life.”

His words made such an impact on people that they spoke of that day for two years. Cathy explained, “People would walk up to him and tell him how much it meant to them.”

The paper he read from still remains—a threepaged paper he typed that has since become his “Legacy of Love” and it is being published for the first time as a tribute to him.

Cathy said, “Gary would have loved this!” He entitled it: “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me! (I WILL REBUILD!) Here’s what Gary spoke back in 2010: I was baptized the 2nd day of life due to the severity of my health issues. From birth to age 16, I incurred 16 corrective surgeries, significant enough to keep me in the hospital for about 6 weeks each summer (including recuperation time). As I lay in bed at night at the hospital, I often wondered as a young boy, why my life was spared. I had Hirschsprung’s disease—a lack of intestinal motility; did not have a rectum, sphincter muscle or a hole in the back side. The technology did not exist then, nor [does it] now to correct all of these issues; so after two colostomies, they

[doctors] created a hole and tied the lower intestine directly to it. Therefore, the stool elimination process was and continues to be done with irrigations (enemas) between one and four times each day.

There were other issues which needed corrected, but I’d rather not get into those at this time.

As I got older, I began to wonder why I wasn’t bitter with what I had been through.

My mom gave me the best explanation, which to this day I cannot discount. She said, “Before you were born, God knew you would have difficulties. So he gave you something very special in your personality for which to handle those times.” Those words made sense to me then and have comforted me ever since.

After the completion of my 16th operation, my doctors informed my parents what had been completed is all that could be done and to this day, that remains true. As of today, my intestinal issues continue to be addressed on a daily basis.

Our family attended Sunday School and church weekly and recognized the important meaning and the celebration of Christian holidays.

Mom worked with her boys on scholastic issues up through high school and [instilled the] importance of working towards an advanced education and degree.

Dad worked with his boys on “manly” issues back then: how to do physical work and the skills required to do such. We lived in Suburbia until 1970 when my parents bought a 125 acre farm.

[Gary’s humorous explanation for “Suburbia” was Upper St. Clair, PA, Severna Park, MD and California.] With four boys, dad taught us how to have vision for projects and to see accomplishments reach a

successful end. Dad also taught us the importance of balance in life between work and play, teaching us sporting activities such as skiing, golfing, and fishing. For 15 years, Dad and I went fishing for a week in Canada each July.

There was lots of bonding at that time, and he taught me not to let my physical limitations deter me in whatever I attempted. Dad was my best friend and confidant through my life, and it was difficult on me when I lost him to Lou Gehrig’s disease in 1992.

I continued to attend church as an adult on a more infrequent basis, going mainly to please mom and not myself as she would ask: “Are you going to church today?” I had very little understanding at the time of the importance of God in one’s life as well as the need for fellowship.

I graduated from high school, college, and studied toward an advanced degree in Finance. For 12 years, I was employed by a financial institution and eventually obtained a position as vice president due to the downsizing of the bank; received a severance and subsequently built my own appraisal company. I became an accomplished long distance runner training at 75-90 miles per week and an accomplished snow skiing racer. I was proud of these accomplishments. My parents were told during my advancement through school, that I would be classified as a disabled child. Thankfully, they refused to put that label on me, their second child, apparently seeing characteristics that others did not see.

Life was good to me, based on the above, as I took pride in my accomplishments doing what others said I couldn’t do, whether it was scholastically, athletically, and/or professionally as a result of my physical issues. I became a

driven individual, finding that I could do most things when I focused.

HAVE YOU HAD ANY LIFE CHANGING YEARS? MINE WAS IN 2003!

I received a phone call in May, 2003, from a client regarding an appraisal I completed, asking me if I would consider changing the value of my report. I said “No,” citing current economic conditions and factors. Several

weeks later, I received a phone call, this time from the person’s spouse [his wife], asking if I spoke to him during the recent past. I said, “Yes,” and discussed the contents of the conversation with her. At the end of my discussion, she was visibly upset. I asked her if there was anything I could do.

She said that [her husband] had lied to her about increasing the property values and

said he wanted a divorce--that she didn’t know much about real estate and less about divorce. I waited a minute or so and said: “Well, this is your lucky day. I know a lot about divorce and even more about real estate. So anytime you have a question, give me a call and I’ll call you back on my nickel and see what I can do.”

She asked me why I would do that, and I said: “I was put on this earth to help people.”

Thus began a friendship.

We talked back and forth for six months, meeting [face to face] only twice. Then my life changed for good on December 12th. I was to complete an appraisal on a large dairy farm and asked her if she wanted to join me. She said she would love to and arrived at my house at 8am. We completed our work and were home by 3 pm. She was going to go back to her mom’s where she was living at the time [in York, PA], but the weather made travel impossible with her going over the mountains in the snow that was forecasted to be about 10 inches for that evening.

I asked her to stay, so she found an acceptable bedroom in my house and stayed the night. About midnight, I began talking in my sleep, and she came over to see what the commotion was about. She tried to wake me up, but I was unwakable for two hours and when I did [wake up], I had no recollection of who she was or what we did that day. In fact, I lost a lot of memory, as I found out when she got me to the hospital.

After various tests that night, it was decided I had a very serious grand mal seizure. I lost my driver’s license as a result of this seizure. “Cathy” said she would come and take care of

me if I would like, taking me to doctor’s visits and keeping an eye on me, and helping run my appraisal business. I thought about this offer for a short time, and then countered with: “If you let me fight your divorce for you, then we can give this ‘merger’ as friends a try.” (God saw two people in dire straits and put them in each other’s path, as they each had skills the other needed desperately. Six years later, we are still here!!!)

LIFE AS TWO Several days after my seizure, I had an MRI and found out I had an inoperable cancerous brain tumor the size of a golf ball, located behind my right eye, wrapped around the main artery feeding the right side of my brain. The neurologist gave me six months to live. I was stunned.

When I got home, I told Cathy I needed to go up a hill on my farm for some quiet time. I did so, and while I was up on the hill, I prayed to God: “I haven’t had enough yet in my life with my medical issues and the losing of my dad?” Well, I didn’t get any response from the heavens while up there, so I made my journey back to the house. But when I got to the valley, I was stopped dead in my tracks by a voice in my belly that said: “HAVE FAITH.” I just stood there, not knowing what had happened, and I waited. After a few minutes, I headed home knowing my life may now change forever and that “having faith” would be front and center in my life.

Gary was so wonderful and helpful to so many people--two neighbors in particular. One neighbor reminded me that when her son died three years ago, Gary stepped in to help shovel snow and do things like that. He helped another neighbor as well. But after my husband died 23 years ago, Gary stepped in and supported me.

Anything I needed done, he was right there mowing the lawn, shoveling the snow. He was so kind and generous. I miss him terribly.

I changed doctors several times, finding specialists to address whatever the need.

But the biggest change I made was in my faith. I became an avid believer in the Lord, rarely missing a Sunday service and became involved in the Sunday services whenever possible. I even changed churches and found a congregation and pastor which felt more like family. My goal was to make my church-going experience a meaningful one.

As you can see, I made it past six months.

time as the consensus was to have MRI’s every three months, monitoring the tumor while taking various seizure medications. Well, things stayed on course until November 2007, when my neurologist said the tumor was changing and we are going to have to become aggressive.

Choosing between radiation, chemo, or a mixture of each, I decided to choose radiation.

The course was for five weeks, five days a week and 30 minutes per session.

I chose radiation because it was less traumatic to the overall strength of my body, but I was very concerned with the effects on my brain. I was hoping it would shrink the tumor, as the size of the tumor was causing increased seizures due to the pressure within the brain. The neurologist told me not to expect the tumor to shrink much, due to the location of it with the optic nerve and the ear canal. The goal was to slow its growth.

Two weeks before radiation began, I received a package in the mail. Upon opening it, I found it was a prayer shawl. Not knowing anything about it, a note was included that explained its history and power! I instructed Cathy to make sure to take this shawl to every radiation treatment.

Well, for five weeks, I had the shawl with me for every treatment. My doctor saw that I had it and was glad, as he said they can be very powerful.

What a good feeling it was that someone of his integrity believed in this!!!

Three weeks after radiation, I had another MRI to compare images from post radiation to pre-radiation.

My doctor asked me to come up to his office to look at the images. Not knowing what he would say, he said that he couldn’t explain what happened, but, for some reason, the tumor shrank more than anyone would have expected.

He couldn’t explain why. I asked him to get up, and I gave him a hug and said: “I know you are one of the best; so I’ll give you 50% of the

credit and God gets the other 50%.” He took a step back and said [pondered]: “Several weeks ago--that was you with the prayer shawl wasn’t it? I told you they have power for the believer!” And he smiled!

Today, the tumor has shown no growth since the completion of the radiation, and the doctors expect my life to be an additional four to ten years. To me, that’s a lifetime in the medical world, as technology is changing all the time. But, I know “MY LIFE WILL BE ON GOD’S TIME.” [END]

Six years have passed since that day when Gary shared about his life. Little did he know it would be published, serving as his “Legacy of Love” that would inspire the masses. On January 16th, 2016, Gary’s time on earth came to an end. Cathy shared that although he had seizures, he never had a grand mal seizure since that night in 2003 when she had to stay in his home. She shared her insights about that night: “It wasn’t like me to just drop everything and help this man that I really didn’t know very well. But, I could tell he needed assistance and I was available. I was in the middle of a divorce and I wasn’t sure where I was going to go or what I was going to do. But there was something that kept telling me that it was going to be okay. I was praying and asking God if He was sure that this was what I was to do. But then there was my family.

They were protective of me because they knew I didn’t know anything about Gary, except that he was a nice man and a professional farm appraiser!”

Gary said to Cathy 12 years ago, and it held true to the end: “I was put on this earth to help people.” There were many quiet things Gary did for others that were unseen by many, but it didn’t escape the eyes of God. And when God’s stop watch said: “Time’s up!” Gary had won the race. He left a void in many hearts, because there was only one Gary--a Gary who loved people. His name was Gary Schenck, and he will never be forgotten.

Obituary of William Sudor

William Sudor, passed away from a lengthy illness at Monongahela Valley Hospital on Wednesday, March 4th, 2015. He was 90 years old. A native of Monessen, PA, he was born on October 16th, 1924, to the late William and Helen Sudor. He was married at age 31 to his caring and devoted wife of 59 years, Carrie Louise Sudor, and together they had one daughter: Janet Siarnicki, who resides in Stevensville, MD with her husband Ronald Jon Siarnicki. He is survived by one sister, Carol Miller and two nieces, Marcy Sudor and Debbie Sudor, both of North Carolina.

During WWII, on March 20th, 1943 at age 19, Bill joined the army, his last two years spent with the Air Force. Not only will he be remembered for his love for his country, but for his love for jazz. He played the guitar since he was 12 years old, his love for jazz compelling him to master his instrument throughout his entire adult life. He played professionally

with the band: The Four Rhythm Kings for 40 plus years on weekends. But the highlight of his musical career was in 1970 to 1999, when he would play in New York City with Max Kaminsky, famous jazz trumpeter and bandleader of the Max Kaminsky Orchestra. In 1978, his love for music further inspired him to purchase the Landmark Place in Monessen so that live bands could have a place to come and entertain for dances and weddings.

A sales representative most of his life, he would travel extensively, coming home on the weekends. Employed by the Ohio Plastic Company and most recently, Franco American Costume Business, he also owned his own business in the 1950’s and 60’s called Bill’s Novelties.

He attended the First Christian Church in Monessen, PA in his early years and was actively involved with the Musician’s Union.

He was preceded in death by his brother Stephen Sudor.

BILL SUDOR “THE EARLY YEARS” Celebration of Life

William Sudor Sr. was born in 1901 and Helen Babiak was born in 1906, both of them in Austria. As destiny would have it, they would meet here in America later in life, fall in love and move to Monessen, PA. William and Helen were Bill Sudor’s parents and Bill was named after his father, William.

There is no Information about William Sr.’s voyage to America, except to say that he came over when he was around 19 years old, working any type of job he could find.

Helen came to America on May 27th, 1911 at the age of 5. Her two sisters got sick and never made it to America and were buried at sea. Hanica was 7 and Justina was 11 months old.

Of the three sisters on the boat, Helen survived and became a strong woman of faith who, in adulthood, would meet William Sudor on American soil. When she was 14 years old, William was working in Monongahela, PA fixing something for someone, when he saw Helen for the first time, helping her mother care for her family. She had grown up so fast and in 1921when she was 15, William and Helen were married.

Together, they would have two sons and one daughter: Stephen was born in 1923; William Jr. (Bill) was born in 1924; and Carol who was born during World War II as Stephen and Bill served their country.

But, there was a bond that Bill had with his mother that Stephen and Carol didn’t have. Since many records

from Austria were destroyed, Helen never knew what her real birthdate was, so she decided she would use Bill’s birth date which was October 16th. They would both share the same day and as years would pass by, October 16th would hold a double- birthday celebration for both mother and son.

Bill grew up in a loving home, he graduated from Monessen High School and was a drum major (leader of the band) in his junior and senior year. He was quite talented with the baton and then went on to study accounting at Robert Morris College in Pittsburgh. But then he was drafted into the army and spent the next three years stationed in Miami Beach Florida.

It was one of the most difficult times for Helen and William Sr. to endure, because both Stephen and Bill went off to war (WWII) at the same time.

Janet (Sudor) Siarnicki, Bill’s only daughter shared, “My grandmother was devastated. She thought she would lose both of her sons.

When they came home from the war, they found they had a baby sister, Carol! When my grandmother wrote to them, she never told them she was expecting, so there was this big age difference between them all.”

Bill had come home first and then Stephen.

Back then, Bill lived at home and went into business and they were all pretty close while they waited for Stephen who was still overseas. He too finally came home safe and rejoined the family.”

It was during this time that Bill would meet Carrie who was the love of his life, but not for the first time. They had met prior to him going into the service.

Carrie explained: “I was in nursing at the time and there was a dance that I went to. I believe it was at the Holiday in Monessen. I was with somebody else at the time, but I danced one dance with Bill.” It was a dance that neither one of them forgot.

She ended up later breaking up with her boyfriend, and it wasn’t until after she graduated from nursing school that she bumped into Bill again. Carrie shared, “I had graduated and was working at the old Charleroi Monessen Hospital where Bill’s -See next page-

mother was having surgery.

One day, he walked into a room as I was going out, and he said to me, ‘Aren’t you Carrie Jacobs? Do you remember me?’ From there, he began to ask me to go out with him. That’s when I got to know him. His mother and father were members of the First Christian Church in Monessen and they always sat in the last pew. That was the church where we got married. We married on April 19th, 1954. It was on a Monday, the day after Easter.” Bill’s father had an empty house two doors down from them that Carrie and Bill moved into it, and they never moved anywhere else.

Two months after their second wedding anniversary, Carrie gave birth to a baby girl who would become their only child: Janet (Jan). Having been raised living on the same street as her grandparents, the two families were closely knitted together. “I had the greatest grandparents!” Jan proclaimed. “They took care of me a lot while my dad traveled and my mom worked nights at the hospital. I can remember visiting my great grandmother [Helen’s mother] who lived on top of a hill in Monongahela on a farm. She would brush my hair.”

Jan continued to reminisce, “Dad loved Miami Beach so much from being stationed there that we would go every summer for a two-week vacation. Dad and I were both beach people and we both loved the ocean. I have so many warm memories from my childhood.”

After Bill had returned from the army, he had decided that accounting was too boring and he worked at a bank for a little while. But soon he found sales to be his niche. He opened a small store in Monessen called Bill’s Novelty Shop. Carrie helped run the store and worked part-time as a nurse.

Later on, Bill took

on a job at the Ohio Plastic Company in Ohio. Jan recalled, “He actually lived in Ohio for a time and came home on weekends to work at the store. My mom would help run the store and work part-time as a nurse too.

After that, he took a sales position at Franco American Costume and Novelty Company out of New York.”

The musical ability that Bill displayed since the age of 12 was also shared with his daughter Jan. Bill mastered the art of playing guitar and passed his love for playing on to his daughter. As Bill played with the Four Rhythm Kings, Jan would play guitar and sing with a local gospel group who would go into various churches and sing. Her father was always so proud that she was carrying on his love for music, sharing it with others.

But on May 28th, 1973, nineteen years after Bill and Carrie were married, the two merged families who lived near one another came to a sudden end. Helen unexpectedly passed away at age 67.

Bill’s father William had recently passed away and as Helen grieved for him, she had a stroke. Cherished memories would now have to be remembered and stored away in their hearts, and October 16th, Bill’s birthday,

would no longer be the same. His mother was no longer there and his father was also gone.

Jan was in high school and living at home during this hard transition, destined to graduate from the same high school her father attended the following year in 1974. She would later fall in love with Ron Siarnicki, her high school sweetheart and she too would move away to Maryland, just as her dad’s brother and sister did.

Stephen was living in Ayden, North Carolina and Carol (Sudor) Miller was in McKein, Maryland. Bill took his mother’s death quite hard.

He was always a family man and he and his mother were very close.

On April 21st, 1979, Jan got married and left the nest, Bill’s season of loss continuing on. But, Jan will never forget the times her father would show up at her door in Maryland, having rearranged his travel schedule as a salesman just to come see her. The miles would never put a distance between them—Jan was Daddy’s girl.

On April 6th, 2003, Stephen, his older brother passed away. Bill would miss him. They loved playing music together for hours.

Stephen played the clarinet.

He was 80 when he passed away. Carol, Bill’s sister, remains and still lives in

“Dad took me to see the David Frost show, the Merv Griffin show, two shows that were popular at the

Playing guitar professionally was his mainstay, and combined with his unique connectivity to people, doors seemed to automatically open for him to play in places that other musicians would only dream of.

I met Danny Kaye on the street while walking with Dad. I loved our trips to New York. Dad would play jazz guitar with Max Kaminsky every time he was in town. He and Max were best of friends. I can remember sitting in this smoky jazz club at age 12. I would be snuck in so that I could watch Dad play with Max. Max was a great musician who played with Benny Goodman, BB King Etc. Our trips were magical!”

But it was through his music that he met President Kennedy years before he became President.

Jan recalled, “I remember I was already taking piano lessons and he’d tell me to learn to play the guitar, because you can take that instrument anywhere you go, whereas, you can’t take a piano! A lot of times we would play guitar together, or he would accompany me singing as I played the piano. I now have those beautiful guitars he played—something I will keep always. It’s like having

a part of my dad with me.”

“Every Saturday night, Dad played with the Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings. Bill Wyman was the bass guitarist for the Rolling Stones. They played for weddings, parties and events for many years. He also played at the Twin Coaches for many years and accompanied Dean Martin and Shirley Jones when they were there. He was an excellent guitarist and played in other bands before and after the Rhythm Kings and at many events until his late 70’s when he had a stroke and was unable to use his right arm to play.”

But humor was always Bill Sudor’s calling card and it’s what energized him. His regular joke-telling could tear down any wall that had the potential of coming between him and somebody he met. People automatically would love his easy-going, anecdotal way-always saying the right thing and choosing the right jokes to lighten up any situation in order to make people comfortable to be around him.

Jan shared, “Dad’s famous saying was: ‘If I could live my life over, I’d live over a delicatessen.’ He could tell a joke without forgetting a thing and he knew how to deliver it to make it -See next page-

funnier. And Dad had so many stories from playing at so many wedding receptions.

One story I remember, was about the drunken guy that fell into the wedding cake and totally destroyed it, and he wasn’t even invited to the wedding! Dad said he could write a book of all the crazy things that happened while he played music.

He loved wearing his funny teeth that he had especially made for him by a local dentist! The teeth were ugly teeth that looked real!”

Bill was known for getting on elevators, and after the doors would close and then open again, he would walk out wearing his funny teeth, just to see how people would react when he would walk out. These were the kinds of stories that were shared at his funeral--stories of his funny antics that brought tears of laughter instead of tears of grief. It was the way Bill would have wanted it.

One person said, “Bill could tell a joke 365 times a year and never tell the same joke over again! But Bill had that grin. That’s what made him what he was, and that’s what made his jokes so funny.”

Another story was shared about the time Bill talked to a man for a rather long time—a man he simply ran into. After Bill walked away, Bill’s friend who was also there with him asked Bill what it was all about, and Bill looked at him and said, “I couldn’t understand a word he was saying.”

Laughingly, the man added, “Bill would talk to anyone!”

Bill Sudor’s funeral was at the Rhome Funeral Home. Jan shared, “He was good friends with Denver Rhome who was a long-time funeral director in Monessen, PA. In 1969, the Rhome Funeral Home had just been built and moved from 688 McKee Avenue, Monessen to 1209 Grand Blvd in Monessen. Denver wanted something he could give out at his Open House, and since Dad sold novelty products, he asked him to

come up with something. So, Dad printed words on feather pens, an original product he created with his printer and printing machines that were down in the basement [of our home].

But he took it one step further and printed a dozen funny pens, determined to play a joke on Denver! The pen read: “Lay prone with Denver Rhome”! To this day, Chris, Denver’s son, still has one of those pens that Bill Sudor made as a joke displayed in the office.”

Jan then shared a great final milestone for Bill: “In the late 80’s, he bought the Landmark Place in downtown Monessen. His dream came true to host live bands from all over the United States who would come into Monessen. The place was packed every weekend. After Dad had his stroke, he didn’t go there as often and my mom took over opening and closing the place. They did all their own cleaning and setup of all those tables. It was a success, and busloads of people would come from all over to enjoy the music and dance.

They would use it for weddings, but Dad got tired of the wedding parties destroying things, so he stopped having wedding receptions there. He had a special friend, Michael Moore, who would rent the hall for all of his friends when he was in town. He loved my dad and he was very good to him. I can remember how Dad would play music with his brother. They would go down to that building and play music for hours.

“But the one thing that we’ll never get rid of is ‘Charlie’. Charlie was an ‘animated man’ who would emcee the events at Landmark Place. Dad would hide behind the curtain just like in the Wizard of Oz, and talk to the audience through Charlie! Everyone loved it!

Kennedy to Visit ‘Acquaintance’

Press Washington Bureau WASHINGTON, October 11-Reliable sources here today confirmed reports that President Kennedy paid an unexpected call on an “old acquaintance” of WWII days while on tour of the Pittsburgh district.

going to use your heart to heal people.’ It sparked something in me so strong, that I stood up. I felt like something had exploded and I said, ‘Well, if that’s the case, who has an infirmity [sickness or disease] here?

Let’s pray!’ God healed seven to eight people that night including a man who just had rotator cuff surgery whose arm was still in a sling. He took his arm out of that sling and started swinging it around with no pain.

There was another lady— an elderly lady who had lockjaw who meekly raised her hand and said, ‘Do you have time for one more?’

And I knelt down, put my hands on her jaw and she was immediately set free.’

Literally, one week after that night, I was rehired at Monongahela Valley Hospital. I had been home for a couple of months up to that point.”

He continued, “I have a heart for anybody who’s in pain. It bothers me and it’s what compels me.

Our [security] desk is [located] where people come out of the emergency room who are on crutches or in a wheel chair, or maybe wrapped up with a brace or sling in some sort of pain.”

As opportunities open up to him, his heart of compassion reaches out to those in pain. Many times he ends up praying for them, but takes it a step further, asking questions to see if it worked! Did the person receive an instant miracle?

He does this because he’s seen it happen other times, so he asks: “Is the pain gone? Do you feel any different?” Joe added, “I can’t explain it, but there’s something in me where I can actually feel when God is moving—like a tightness that comes.

“The one that really stands out to me that threw me for a loop was a girl who was coming out of the hospital who was on crutches with a bandaged knee. I met her halfway down the hall and asked her if she’d mind coming over to the lobby where there was a couch. I talked to her a little while and I didn’t even pray and she said, ‘Whoa! What did you do? There’s no more pain in there!’ She

LIFE (From Pg. 9) started moving her leg around and then unwrapped her knee. She put weight on it and left the wrap and crutches there [at the hospital] and walked out completely healed! I didn’t even say anything! I didn’t even pray! All I did was shared how God used me. I learned that sometimes, God doesn’t even need us to say anything [in prayer]. I just moved in compassion!”

Joe is convinced that God wants people well and whole. He shared, “One of the things I learned about prayer is you can go back at it again if the pain isn’t completely gone, because God wants it full.

People welcome that second prayer and it’s then when that sensation may come, and when it does, I will say to the Holy Spirit: “Double what you’re doing!” or I’ll say: “You’re not a halfway God. You don’t do things halfway and I thank Him for complete restoration.” Then I stand back and look and it’s completely gone.”

Joe has taken that word “security” to another level, and what better place for compassion to explode but at a hospital… the Monongahela Valley Hospital. It’s the place you’ll find compassion on both the inside and on the outside!

Meet Joe…and you’ll experience something wonderful! And when you do, just remember: It’s all about compassion and how his heart is being used to heal others.

But the amazing part is that Joe knows beforehand when it is working in an individual! He experiences a physical sensation when the “fusion” is taking place. People have announced to Joe that he/she is no longer in pain and this has caused him to TRUST this sensation, making him aware that he has tapped into a wonderful dimension that creates solutions for hurting people that has been divinely delivered through this gift of “compassion” (Love in Movement).

It goes inside the person, moving and bringing about beneficial change. That’s why it’s called “Love in Movement”. It’s doing wonderful things because it is divine. It is the Love of God.

A Reconnect of a Divine Connection --Turn Around Moments--

I work for Corporate America and worked for 25 plus years with the same boss in a major company.

Working as an executive can be very trying and intense at times. There are usually unexpected obstacles that come along that are difficult to work around, but still has to be overcome.

I can remember back in 1999 when I told by boss that God was going to bring him into a new transi-

tional place. Although I delivered this message that God wanted me to deliver, my boss said back to me, “There’s no way!” But I knew that Dad (Father God) was going to make it happen for him! If Dad says a transition is coming, then a transition is coming! I told him this: “All I can tell you is that the number ‘12’ will be significant in this whole venture.”

The year went on and I would minister to him over different matters that would crop up, and finally in December, I had this dream. I saw him standing in front of a judge, and the judge pounded his gavel and said to him: “Today, you’re a free man. Go in

peace.” I called him that morning and said, “Hey! You’re quitting today!” This blew him away! He asked me, “How did you know?”

I told him, “God showed me.” He told me he WAS quitting but said, “You can’t tell anybody!” Well, I had no intentions of telling anybody and reassured him of that.

What God showed me wasn’t for anybody but him. This was all about God affirming his decision and bringing him a confirming word to remind him that God was the One who was behind it all, steering him to leave, because there was another place God had for him to go. He was to go in peace.

During our conversation, he brought something back to my mind that I had forgotten about. He asked me if I remembered what I had told him back in February that the number “12” was going to play a significant role in his life. He said to me, “Do you know what today it is?” At that moment I realized in was 12/12/99! We were both in awe of how God had orchestrated the entire thing!

God had sent a dream to me “on purpose” and “in purpose,”because I was to call this man on 12/12 to tell him of his foretold transition that had come to pass just as God had said!

Well, he did leave the company in 1999, and in 2016, just a few weeks ago, my wife and I were on vacation in Florida, taking a much needed break from Corporate America. One morning I was walking alone on the beach with the Lord. I woke up that morning with my ex-boss heavy on my heart, .so I called his

office where he now works.

His secretary informed me that his mother had just passed away. So I called him on his cell phone. “Dad” had a message of comfort for him.

There isn’t anything that God does not know about you! Dad is crazy about his kids! All you have to do is invite him into your life and he will be excited to come in and help you out!

He wants to be your best friend and walk you through some stuff. Isn't it better to walk through it with a friend who knows your name and all about you?

Thirty days hath September, April June and November. This is the calendar we are accustomed to. But, did you know that it is a “man-made” calendar that was adjusted to accomodate Constantine; whereas the calendar of old is a “lunar calendar” that follows the times and seasons in the heavens, incorporating earth with the order of the Heavens? Isn’t that powerful?

That calendar is still in existence and is used by the Hebrew population who have the wonderful understanding that the Heavens do speak into our lives as God intended; and that there really are signs in the Heavens that speak to us and confirm the times and seasons we live in, according to the Divine Order that has been set into place just for us--not by man, but by the Creator Himself who created man.

What you are about to digest is not astrology, nor is it your horoscope. Instead, this is the “Real”. Why eat hamburger when you can eat steak? Why not digest the “Real”, rather than the “counterfeit” for the real?

Av is the fifth of the twelve months of the Jewish calendar. The name Av literally means “father.” Av derives from the root, which means, “to will” or “to desire.”

This month is the “low point” of the Jewish calendar. The 9th of Av was the day the people of Israel chose to receive the negative report of the 10 spies and refused to enter the Promised Land. This date was also marked by the destruction of both the first and second Temples in Jerusalem.

If you study the history of the Jews, you discover that the Jews are caught in a cycle of destruction. Every year on the 9th of Av, a window of destruction opens over them. On the 9th of Av Israel chose to listen to the voice of UNBELIEF!

So, the month of Av was originally intended to be the month that Israel entered the Promised Land.

God’s plan had been that every year Av would be a month to celebrate His goodness. God designed Av to be the month to celebrate entering into the Promise. But instead of believing God, the people agreed with unbelief and gave a negative confession.

They said: “The enemy is too strong for us. We will all die!” They tasted the FRUIT of the land but refused to enter. They held back

in unbelief and by doing that, they put themselves under a curse.

Because of their sin on that date, Israel spent forty years in the wilderness. At the end of that time, God, in His grace, gave them a second chance to enter. (God is the God of second chances.) But they never truly repented of the sin. So every year the cycle comes back around, and the window of destruction opens again.

But the Word assures us that one day Israel will turn and believe in Jesus as Messiah. Like Israel in Joshua’s day, a future generation will enter in; when that happens, the 9th of Av curse will finally be broken.

God still wants Av to be a month of blessing and celebration of His goodness. Av is a month that presents us with a CHOICE! So receive His Promise and mix it with FAITH this month!

The Hebrew letter for the month of Av is the letter TET. (In Hebrew, AV means, “father.”) The letter TET in Hebrew is a picture of a womb. Certain things will be conceived this month. In the month of Av, the secret of the pregnancy begins to move in the earth realm. God’s prophetic people can experience the word before it manifests. This will also help you see how the Bible is written to show us how covenant works.

This is the month where kingdom advances through partnership. Again, be very aware of your partnerships during this month. Watch your alignments.

The Hebrews associate Av with a new level of discernment. In this month you are developing a new level of discernment, or you are opposing counsel and advice. If you look back in your life, you can identify times when Av is the month of Simeon. He people gave you counsel and messed up, but there is redemptive advice; but you thought you power for Simeon. knew more than anyone else and did not act on the advice.

This is one of the most incredible prophetic months. When the lion— the people of God—roar, a prophetic covering is created.

In January, I attended a New Year's service at my church. The special speaker was a prophet and close family friend. He began prophesying over me and told me that God gave me healing in my hands. My human mind doubted this thinking: “This is not a gift for me.” I had felt that I was simply called to have the gift of compassion; never did I think that I would have the gift of healing.

her new doll Lily. I felt a strong presence of God moving in the room—a feeling of peace and calm that all would be fine. It gave me chills. Lily! This brought to mind Easter, which was coming up soon, as well as resurrection and new life.

That’s when it hit me! New life! The prayer warriors at church prayed new life over Crystal’s doll! At that moment, I knew without a doubt that my directives had come from God and I had followed as I should.

Although the procedure

went smoothly, Crystal and her mother did not come out with the news they were expecting. Crystal’s conduit, the device acting in place of her missing heart valve, was too small for her now. She would need open heart surgery soon to replace the conduit. I wondered for a moment how this could happen when I had heard God’s voice and followed His instructions, but this thought was fleeting. I sensed that same feeling of calm and comfort

The surgery was scheduled for June, and I watched Crystal become more and more stressed and fearful as the date crept up on us all. She was quiet, less chipper and very hesitant in doing things that came naturally to her. The day before Crystal’s surgery, I visited Crystal. She brought me her doll as I had asked. This time, I anointed Lily and prayed over her. I had worried about what words to speak over the doll, but when I opened my mouth, God gave me the words to pray and speak over Lily. I cannot recall what I was given to speak over the doll, but what I do recall is praying: “You promised new life to all and You never go back on your promises.”

Crystal took Lily into the operating room for her open heart surgery on Tuesday morning. I prayed that in replacing Crystal’s conduit they would use the adult conduit, one that would not need immediate replacement, to reduce and even eliminate the chance for future heart surgeries.

(In most cases, individuals who need a conduit have to undergo routine replacements as the device wears out.) That day, the doctors replaced Crystal’s conduit with the adult conduit! Crystal’s mother and my dear friend, Ashley, updated me daily with Crystal’s progress. By Wednesday morning, Crystal was up and walking around the hospital which surprised some of the nurses. Ashley told me how she overheard Crystal telling a nurse, “Miss Stacy gave me a special doll that she took to her church and prayed over. I’m going to be OK because I have Lily with me.” Ashley told me that at the rate Crystal was recovering, she would be able to go home on Friday. My response to Ashley was simply: “She

WILL be home on Friday.”

On Friday morning, Ashley reported that Crystal had some follow-up tests, and the results did not seem promising for a Friday discharge. I continued to believe that God would bring Crystal home that day. After reviewing these test results, the doctors gave Crystal the option to stay another night or go home. Crystal went home!

I visited Crystal the following Monday. She looked amazing—so bright and smiley! Crystal told me she was doing great and felt good! In the past, Crystal’s procedures never went well, but for her heart catheterization procedure, Crystal was out the next day! Crystal’s previous heart surgeries left her hospitalized for at least ten days. This time, however, it was only a three-night stay before her discharge from having open heart surgery!

Crystal and Ashley truly believe that their miracle would never have happened without Lily. I KNOW that God fulfilled His promise to Crystal through a simple baby doll.

Not long after her daughter’s discharge from the hospital, Ashley brought a stuffed turtle to me named Terrance. This would be for a baby she and Crystal met at Children’s Hospital while waiting for Crystal’s surgery!

Ashley asked me to take the turtle to church again, anoint it and pray over it as I did for Crystal’s doll. That Sunday, I brought the turtle to church and we prayed and anointed it with oil and on Monday it was mailed to Children’s Hospital as a physical sign of the comfort of God’s love and His promises.

It amazes me how God’s healing, love and comfort are able to move through such a simple item as a doll! I’m even more amazed that God used an eight-year-old girl who never grew up in a church atmosphere to reveal His power and promises to me!

Thousands of Christians United On National Mall to Pray for Spiritual Reset of the U.S Sydni Grant,

(Washington DC) More than half a million Christians united on the National Mall to cry out for revival and to reset the heart of the nation. Thousands of people of all backgrounds and denominations descended into Washington D.C to lift up the name of Jesus at Together 2016.

The event, which took five years in the making, was inspired by evangelist and PULSE ministry founder, Nick Hall. Hall issued the call for the gathering and led the charge of organizing and bringing Christian leaders and organizations together for the historic event.

Throughout Together 2016, Christians embodied love by forming prayer circles, interceding for their families, churches and communities. Other believers displayed God’s compassion by laying hands on those in need of a healing miracle.

Christians from coast to coast were scattered across the park on blankets and chairs. Hall and many others prayed for the rally for years, sharing the vision with millions of millennials. As they went around to different evangelical outreaches across the country, they encouraged young people that Jesus offers the ultimate reset when it comes to our hearts, lives

and redirecting the course of the country.

“Together 2016 will be a day when we lay down what divides us -- politics, race, social issues, theological differences -- to come together and lift up Jesus who unites us.” said Hall.

“He is the only one who can reset our nation.”

The prayer rally could not have come at a better time. With civil unrest sweeping across the country in wake of the tragic police shootings and Dallas officer attacks, the public display of unity among the Church during the event provided many with a sense of healing and hope.

The event featured a number of artists and speakers including Hillsong, Lecrae, Lauren Daigle, Tim Tebow and Francis Chan.

Throughout the rally, a number of speakers prayed for repentance and reconciliation within the nation.

Charismatic Christian leader Lou Engle called on the crowd to get down on their knees and ask for God’s forgiveness on behalf of the nation in regards to racism.

Engle asked believers to join him in crying out for revival, a new awaken-

ing of the Holy Spirit that would sweep over the land and influence all sectors of society. NFL analyst and former football star Tim Tebow addressed the crowd to walk out the golden rule.

“If this body of people right here decides, we are going to take on that challenge to love people and love Jesus with everything that we have,” Tebow said.

More than 250 organizations and ministries partnered together for the event. During the week leading up to the event, organizations coordinated more than 10,000 service opportunities to show God’s love to communities in a 100-mile radius of Washington D.C. The National Park Service shut down the event early due to the high temperatures and more than 400 cases of heat exhaustion. Event organizers say even though they were disappointed the event ended earlier than expected, they are grateful God’s purpose prevailed of igniting the next generation of Christian leaders to set their cities on fire with God’s love and hope of the gospel.

(Greensburg, PA) Beverly Woodward, a minister from Greensburg, PA has seen angels before. “It had to be a couple of years—maybe two or three years ago during a Sunday morning worship time at my church.” she explained. “After the choir sang, I happened to look up; there was like an archway of angels frolicking!

They were smiling and so happy, and having the best time! I didn’t hear anything, so I don’t know if they were talking to one another, but they all looked alike. They had the same thing on!

They were like children, happy and giggling, and they were so adorable! But it looked like they were sitting on something. I didn’t see their legs! It was like they may have been holding on to something. As the service continued, they were still there, but at one point, I couldn’t see them anymore. Whether they were still there and I just couldn’t see them anymore, I don’t know.”

The archway Beverly referred to, was not anything structural in the building itself, like an architectural structure as seen in an ornate church, but it was eight small angels frolicking in the air, playfully forming an arch similar to the arch of a rainbow. Rainbow means “promise”. Even their

formation meant something to Beverly!

Just recently, Beverly was organizing papers in her home and came across a picture that reminded her of what she saw that day. Excited, she kept it in a special place to serve as a reminder of what she had witnessed. (See photo on right) Beverly shared, “To see them, it was like a blanket of peace, joy and love that came over me and it made me happy! It made me smile!”

But in 2006, Beverly suspected she ran into an angel who appeared to her in human form; one she was destined to meet during a very difficult time in her life.

She has since rehearsed her experience over and over in her mind and has prayerfully inquired about it, and has since been convinced that she was unaware she had entertained an angel who was waiting for her at a main floor corridor at Excela Westmoreland Hospital that leads out to the 3rd floor parking garage.

Here were her words: “I was visiting my mother at Westmoreland Hospital at the time. My mother had been in a nursing home but had been admitted. She wasn’t doing well and at the time, my father was also in a nursing home battling Alzheimer’s and blindness, and my husband Don was at home with health issues too, so I had three family

members I was caring for.

“I had been there for many hours that day and it was 3:30 in the morning when I came out of the elevator to go to the parking garage. Around the corner was a woman who had plain purple scrubs on. She had dark hair and was just standing there in the corner.

She looked at me and said, “You seem very tired.” I laughed and said, ‘A little bit.’ But I was more than a little bit! Then she said, ‘I’m going to walk with you.’ As we walked together, she said other encouraging things to me, things I can’t remember except that they were words of encouragement for someone who was going through a hard time.”

Beverly saw that there were no other cars parked around her own car, and offered to walk the woman to her car since it was dark, but the woman declined. Instead, she walked Beverly to her car. Beverly shared, “The last thing I heard her say to me was, ‘This is all going to be alright for you.’ Then she turned and began to walk uphill to another level in the garage. But before she left, I can remember how she made sure I was in my car before walking off.”

But after Beverly was in her car, she rolled down her window and called out to the woman asking one more time: “Please let me take you to your car.” Her thought was that she could drive her up to where her

car was parked. But as the woman walked up the slope to another level, she reassured her and said: “I’m up above here.” Beverly said, “When she said that, she never looked back. I remember it well.”

But Beverly did not exit the garage right away.

Instead, she sat in her car and waited for the woman to drive back down in her car. She explained, “I wanted to pay for her exit out of the garage! I waited for quite awhile—I would say about 15 minutes or so because I didn’t know what level she was [parked] on.

I had the money out, but she never came back down. “There’s only one way to get out of that garage, and it’s down.

Where did she go?”

A security guard at the hospital has since confirmed that there are only two ways to drive out of the garage: the main level and the basement level. There were no other ways to exit.

Beverly went home to get some sleep for a few hours, only to arise again to go back to the hospital. But this time, her visit was completely different than the days before. Unexpected decisions were made about her mother’s care that brought her much peace.

Eight weeks later, her mother passed away peacefully. Beverly remembers how her pastor ministered salvation to her mother, and today, everything is alright for her, just as the woman declared.

Beverly believes that prayer employs angels to work on her behalf. They only heed the voice of the Father! Laughingly she stated, “I don’t want any unemployed angels! I’m praying what ‘God’ says about situations that are in the Bible, because that’s the “Word” they will heed to!”
