Cut food waste: save £700 Nearly half of black sack rubbish is food waste. If we didn’t waste the food we buy the average Havering household would have an extra £700 a year to spend on things they want and enjoy. The Love Food Hate Waste campaign offers practical ways to help you use your food. Ideas for using up leftovers, advice on portion sizes and making use of your freezer, are on the website.

Washable nappies can save you money and reduce waste. Havering Council is offering parents with children younger than 18 months, a Real Nappy sample pack worth more than £30 for just £5 by ordering online. We can also offer support and advice to parents.
