WOMEN POSITION: Centre back

HOW DID YOU GET INTO FOOTBALL? My mum and I are massive Chelsea fans so I was watching and going to games from a very young age. I guess she wanted me to get an experience she never got as a child but luckily for her I fell in love with it and still am! From then I started playing at primary school and have been playing ever since.

WHO INSPIRED YOU TO PLAY FOOTBALL? I think my mum obviously had an influence but just the enjoyment I got out of it from a young age was incredible. I think in a way I inspired myself. I already enjoyed playing with the boys at primary school, so when I joined Tottenham Ladies at the age of 9, playing with other girls who were in the same position as you was a whole new board game. I think that was also the age when I started watching and going to women’s football so I was definitely inspired by seeing some legends of the game up close and personal. It was something I’d never experienced before, it was different but a good different as all I’d ever known was just playing with the boys at break times! From that moment I knew I wanted to keep playing and enjoying my new chapter to see where my football journey would take me; plus no other girls used to play football so I quite enjoyed the spotlight and boasting about my games against some of the ‘big teams’ to all my class.
