TODAY’S LEARNERS, TOMORROW’S LEADERS
A Hartland Student As a senior member of our school, our expectations will be high and we hope that every young person will take advantage of the all-through nature of our school so as to develop, learn and grow. In addition, we will look to the Sixth Form to set high standards in work and behaviour and they are expected to be role models for younger students. Therefore, as throughout the school, the highest standards of attendance, punctuality and dress is the expectation. Each young adult has much to offer our community and our emphasis on mutual respect, responsibility and leadership is coupled with the development of independence for study, critical thinking and research led practice in a safe and supportive environment that will prepare students for examinations and indeed for life after school. We want our students to aim high and ultimately leave us for university or the world of work with the confidence and capability that will equip them for every facet of adult life as a global citizen. But we also want them to be aware of their indebtedness to society and the nature and responsibility of their privilege, and our pastoral and social programme builds on this mantra.
Students’ attitudes to work are mature. They are conscientious, and the oldest students have a serious approach to thinking about what they want to do in the future. KHDA Inspection Report 2019-20
