LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Just as there has been at Key Stage 4, there will continue to be many opportunities for Sixth Form students to take an increasingly active role in.

The role of Senior Student Leadership Executive will be paramount in the development of the school with the substantive positions of Head Boy and Head Girl being introduced. In addition, a variety of committees will undoubtedly continue to grow and flourish as the work and interest of students evolves.

Student Council and the variety of student voice groups, our highly successful Charity Committee, our student newsletter and other publication groups alongside the House and Sports Captains will be core groups of the overall student leadership body of the school.

We expect Sixth Form students to assist the school at Open Days and other events on the school calendar as well as continue our tradition of involvement with local community initiatives.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award and the many leadership opportunities that it enables, is an already established expectation at Hartland, with almost every student in Key Stage 4 involved. This will grow in the Sixth Form to ensure that the Gold Award is an achievable aspiration for all.
