The Hartford baseball team wraps up its three-game weekend series against in-state foe Fairfield on Saturday. First pitch of the series concluding doubleheader is set for 11 a.m.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Marist enters play with a 7-26 overall and 3-6 record in conference play. The Red Foxes most recently took two out of threegames against MAAC opponent Siena College over the weekend. Bayram Hot leads Marist’s offnes with a .394 batting average, 1.003 OPS, 43 hits, and 11 doubles. Providing the power in the Red Foxes linup has been Niko Amory and Brian Hart who lead the team with six round trippers each. Highlighting Marist’s pitching staff is Brian Yetter who leads the starting rotation with a 7.56 ERA over 41.2 innings of work with 41 punch outs.

The Hawks are looking to get back in the win column after dropping a threegame series against Fairfiedl this past weekend. Over the last week, Hartford has launched a season-high six homeruns over the four-game stretch. Harrison Engstrom has been the main power threat with three long balls on the season, while Ryan Knight and Joseph Woronick tie for second on the team with two apiece. Noah
Rivera leads the Hawks offense slashing .272/.349/.380 on the season with 25 hits, seven doubles, 10 RBI, and 35 total bases. On the basepaths, Hartford has combined to steal 20 bases throughout the year. JJ Romatzick and Martin Chavarria lead the squad with four stolen bases apiece. Robert Chaney continues to be Hartford’s ace in the starting rotation, registering a 6.00 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, one complete game and 26 strikeouts in 33.0 innings on the mound. Jack Colella has proven to be a reliable arm out of the bullpen for the Hawks of late, allowing just one earned run over his last 7.1 innings of work.
