What are Waffle Sticks?

Like donuts or gooey pastries, they are perfect for extra special breakfasts (think birthdays or celebrating the first day of summer break) but they could also be served as a dessert. Whether served with sugar, dipped in chocolate, or caramel, they are a true treat.

Eggless Waffle Sticks Recipe Preparation Time –5 Minutes Cook Time –18 Minutes Total Time–23 Minutes Yield –6 Servings

Oil for brushing 3/4 cup (175 mL) flour 3 tablespoon (45 mL) sugar 1 tablespoon (15 mL) baking powder 1/4 teaspoon (1 mL) salt 1/2 cup (125 mL) milk 3 tablespoon (45 mL) oil 1 teaspoon (5 mL) vanilla

Directions: ● Preheat the oven to 400°Fahrenheit (200°Celsius). Use a Chef’s Silicone Basting Brush to brush the Waffle Stick Pan with oil. ● Beat together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. ● In a different bowl, combine the milk, oil, and vanilla. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk till just combined. ● Distribute the batter equally among the wells. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes, or until they are golden brown. Let the waffle sticks cool for five minutes before removing them.

Cooking Tips: To add fun, flavour, and texture to your waffle sticks, you can add the following : ● 1 tablespoon (15 mL) mini or regular semi-sweet chocolate morsels ● 1 to 2 tablespoons (15 to 30 mL) fresh blueberries ● 1/2 tablespoon (7 mL) cinnamon + sugar ● 1 tablespoon (15 mL) creamy peanut butter + 1 tablespoon (15 mL) honey—microwaved for thirty seconds
