WELCOME

I love this me of year - the moment we finally get to reveal the programme for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Wring Fesval. It’s like cracking the spine of a new book, filled with fresh adventures, unexpected twists, and thrilling discoveries.

Our grateful thanks to the Programming Commiee for curang this year’s exceponal lineup and to our brilliant Programming Chair, Mick Herron, whose vision and dedicaon have shaped an outstanding programme. We’re also immensely grateful to our tle sponsor, T&R Theakston, whose unwavering support makes this Fesval possible.

Fesvals like ours are vital cultural and economic assets. Harrogate Internaonal Fesvals has been a cultural cornerstone for 60 years as one of the UK’s longest-running arts fesvals. We know that fesvals are powerhouses of creavity - nurseries for both authors and audiences. They provide plaorms for writers to test ideas, engage readers in new ways, and spark conversaons on pressing social, cultural, and environmental issues. They amplify voices that might otherwise go unheard, fostering dialogue, debate, and innovaon within the literary world.

This Fesval thrives thanks to the incredible support of authors, publishers, readers, and audiences who bring it to life. Together, we create a magical weekend in Harrogate, united by our love of crime ficon.

We hope you enjoy every moment of this year’s Fesval. Here’s to a weekend filled with intrigue, insight, and the shared joy of books!
