2020 In Numbers
Our aim is to maximise Harrogate as a destination, and to empower local businesses to tackle local issues.
Foreword
It is my pleasure to write the foreword to our 2020 Annual Review. have become actions and we are delivering the aims of our businesses plan.
I’ll hold my hands up straight away that when I decided to stand for the Harrogate BID Board just over 12 months ago, I never thought that I would be here, now, as its Acting Chair. I was unsure exactly of the BID’ s role last year, and frustrated because of this, so decided to put my money where my mouth was and stand for the Board. We have been extremely lucky to have had Simon Kent as our Interim BID Manager. He has been a tower of strength, and from day one got on with the job in hand.
Whilst the ups and downs of the last 12 months are captured in our annual review, our sights are now fixed on the coming 12, 24 and 36 months. Our job has only just begun, and we still have a lot more to do.
It’s been a steep learning curve, but I’ve been fuelled by my desire to make Harrogate the best place for people to work, live, shop, eat, drink and visit. Finally, I would like to thank all the Board Directors and our two co-opted members for their support and look forward to working alongside the new Board over the coming 12 months.
To say it has been somewhat of a turbulent year is an Yours, sincerely understatement, and not just because of the economic crisis brought about by the coronavirus pandemic. Sara Ferguson Acting Chair, Harrogate BID I’m very pleased and proud of what we achieved this year. Words
