Did he do more for blacks when he had the audacity not to sound the alarm after being put on notice earlier about the Corvid-19! Regarding the Economy: The president will have to answer for the evils his administration has caused black families. As the result of White House mismanagement, the coronavirus caused the economy to take a dive, leaving minorities without employment! Families were separated because of unemployment, as Grandparents would step forth to shoulder the financial burden for children to eat and sleep! Was Trump then helping blacks? The racial wound at the center of the coronavirus pandemic in the US continues to fester, with latest data showing that African Americans have died from the disease at almost three times the rate of white people. To this day, people continue to be in question as to how this could have taken place.

New figures compiled by the nonpartisan APM Research Lab and released under the title Color of Coronavirus provide further evidence of the staggering divide in the Covid19 death rate between black Americans and the rest of the nation.

Across the country, African Americans have died at a rate of 50.3 per 100,000 people, compared with 20.7 for whites, 22.9 for Latinos and 22.7 for Asian Americans.

Among the states that are still failing to produce any data on deaths by racial group are Montana, Nebraska, Utah and North and South Dakota.

The racial disparities in the US death figures became apparent relatively early on in the pandemic, particularly in large cities where black neighborhoods were hit much harder than wealthier white areas. When New York City produced its first racial breakdown of Covid19 deaths in April it showed that Latino and black New Yorkers, especially in the outer boroughs including Queens and the Bronx, were experiencing death rates that were at least twice those of whites and Asians.

New figures from the city’s health department released this week and reviewed by the New York Times found that when death rates are ranked by zip code, eight out of the top 10 have majority black or Latino populations.

More than 20,000 African Americans – about one in 2,000 of the entire black population in the US – have died from the disease. Rates continue to change daily!

As the pandemic unfolds, some states including Michigan and New York have begun to convene specialist taskforces to grapple with the disproportionate suffering in black communities. But Blackstock said that there remained no sign of the Trump administration stepping up to tackle the crisis.

In addition, Ellis made several cash deposits into her bank accounts in Memphis between March 15-17, 2016, totaling over $9,000.

Moses Moses was a prophet and not just the religious leader of Israel but also the Lawgiver.

Zechariah Zechariah is one of the Minor Prophets too and whose name means “God has remembered” and is very fitting because He was a prophet of Judah and was of the priestly line, just as Ezekiel.

Nahum Nahum is a little known Minor Prophet who, chronologically, has his book come between Micah and Habakkuk and prophesied about the coming end of the Assyrian Empire and the fall of their chief city, Nineveh.

Nathan Nathan the Prophet was the prophet that King David typically consulted and of course Nathan is the one who said “You are the man” (2nd Sam 12:7)!

Obadiah Obadiah is also a Minor Prophet whose name means “servant of God” and looked forward to the end of the captivity that Judah was in at the time.

Samuel Samuel the Prophet was grieved when Israel asked for a king but God knew it wasn’t Samuel they were rejecting but Him (1st Sam 8:6). God used him in the anointing of the Israel’s first two kings (Saul and David) and in communicating God’s will for these kings.

Zephaniah The last in alphabetical order, Zephaniah was a Minor Prophet but there was nothing minor about his prophecies as his name meant “concealed of God” and was a contemporary of Jeremiah the Prophet and also prophesied to the nation of Judah.

Conclusion Some Bible scholars believe that Jacob was a prophet but really, he received a prophecy through a dream (Gen 28:11-16) but if he only received a prophecy from God, does that make him one? My point is, the most obvious prophets were included in this article and to give them a place in time and history and to do so chronologically wouldn’t have made it easier to review but it was hoped that it would be easier to list them alphabetically.

apper and entrepreneur Jay-Z has reportedly made a $3 million investment in Promise, a startup company that helps state and local governments track parolees with GPS technology - and a lot of people, even some of his fans, are not happy about it.

The Promise is a start-up company that aims to help decarcerate the incarcerated - mostly for non-violent or misdemeanor offenses - who can't afford bail. Earlier this year, the company raised about $3 million with the help of Jay-Z's Roc Nation, 8VC, and Kapor Capital.

Jay-Z, who has been open about his stand in criminal justice reform, said the injustices in the system is increasingly alarming. "Money, time and lives are wasted with the current policies," he wrote in a statement. "It's time for an innovative and progressive technology that offers sustainable solutions to tough problems. Promise's team, led by co-founder and CEO Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, is building an app that can help provide 'liberty and justice for all' to millions."

However, Sandra Rose reveals that Promise doesn't actually use their funds to bail detainees out of jail. Instead, Promise sells smartphone apps to government agencies that they could use in replacement of ankle monitoring devices to track parolees who are discharged from jail under the First Step Act. The report described it an "incarceration alternative" that ensures parolees appear in court or take a urine drug test.

Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, co-founder of the company, recently replied to someone on Twitter who accused the company of producing ankle monitoring bracelets and profiting from it. She claimed that they "do not make, provide or sell electronic monitoring."

But she did state that the government is paying their company to track parolees who wear ankle monitoring devices and provide progress reports. This, she says, is a better alternative than having the county spend money to incarcerate parolees that can't afford bail.

The novel coronavirus has infected more than 26.35 million people, with just four countries accounting for over 15 million cases. They are the United States, Brazil, India and Russia — the same four that have been at the top for months.

The US surprised the world when it rose to the top spot in multiple COVID-19 statistics, both for the total number of confirmed cases and the number of deaths. Since then, no other country has surpassed America.

But scientists who are studying the pandemic have also identified another surprise of the pandemic. Some expected the African continent to be affected most heavily by the virus, but that wasn’t the case. South Africa stands out when it comes to the number of total cases, with nearly 631,000 infections. But fewer than 15,000 people have died of COVID-19. These figures are puzzling scientists looking to understand how the virus behaves and how it can be beaten.

The hypothesis that poverty should have a significant impact on the spread of the virus doesn’t stand when it comes to the entire African continent.

Developing countries like Brazil and India showed that the virus couldn’t be contained once it reached densely populated, but poor, neighborhoods.

Experts expected the same thing to happen in Africa, but it didn’t. If anything, Africa is doing better than any other continent, both when it comes to cases and casualties. As BBC News explains, even if those numbers are significantly underreported, Africa still has it much better than other continents right now.

On May 25, George Floyd died after a Minneapolis police officer kneeled on his neck for more than eight minutes. The incident sparked international protests against racism and police brutality. But in the wake of this mass call for change, police are still killing Black men and women at disproportionate rates.

Over the following three months, from May 26 to August 31, police in the U.S. killed 288 people, according to data from both The Washington Post and Mapping Police Violence, two organizations that have kept comprehensive lists of people who have been killed by police. Of the 288 people listed by either the Post or Mapping Police Violence's database, 59 were Black, 102 were White, 42 were Hispanic or Latino, five were Asian, two were Native American, and the race of 78 people was unknown.

The victim has been identified by police as 50-year-old Latonia Williams. She was sitting insider her vehicle in the 7300 block of South Bennett just before 3 p.m. Saturday when a person approached the vehicle and shot her in the head, according to police.

Williams was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

•Not long ago a man died after he was shot inside of a home in the South Shore neighborhood Thursday night.

Neighbors say the area is quiet, and are expressing their shock about the shooting, saying this type of violence is out of the ordinary.

According to police, a 28-year-old man was inside a home in the 7500 block of South Chappel Avenue when he heard shot and felt pain around 11:15 p.m.

Police said the man was shot in the arm and chest. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition and was later pronounced dead. Police said it appears gunshots came from the back of the residence.

•In another South Shore shooting: A Chicago man has been charged after police said he fatally shot two teens in the South Shore neighborhood after they asked how tall he was.

Police said Laroy Battle, 19, opened fire on two teens in an alley in the 7900-block of South Luella Avenue around 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. According to Deputy Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan, the shooting took place after the two teens and a friend had a brief encounter with Battle, whom they did not know, in a corner store.
