Bondhusdalen © Sverre Hjørnevik / Fjord Norway

In the valleys Buardalen and Bondhusdalen you will see the icefalls coming down from the Folgefonna plateau glacier. Buardalen and Buarbreen are in Odda, and the hike to the icefall is about a 4 h round trip hike (p. 59). Bondhusdalen and Bondhusbrea are in Sundal, and you can walk through the beautiful valley and continue along Lake Bondhusvatnet. The hike takes 2-4 h in total depending on how far you walk along the lake (p. 50)

Hiking to the mighty waterfalls

Along the trail through Husedalen valley from Kinsarvik towards the Hardangervidda mountain plateau there are four huge waterfalls. This is regarded as one of the most beautiful hikes in Norway. Seeing all the four waterfalls is a 5-6 h round trip hike (p. 67). In Eidfjord, you can walk through the canyon towards the foot of Vøringsfossen waterfall. When starting at Storegjel in the Måbødalen valley 1.5 h return hike, when starting at Fossatromma 2-3 h (p. 16).
