Our brand

Round the world the Hanna brand is renowned for its competitive edge

Round the world the Hanna brand is renowned for its competitive edge Adapting high end technology to meet demand for advanced measurement solutions in low to mid markets, Hanna is synonymous with market revolution. World firsts in pH and pocket testers have established our reputation for invention and innovation. Hanna automatic mini titrators broadened access to specialist chemical testing. The unique calibration check featured across Hanna temperature testing equipment raised industry expectations and set new standards among lower market entry products. Pre-amplified and double-junction electrodes, process pH with integrated cellular communication, pocket photometers, portable refractometers – all are the result of a continuous programme of research and development that lies at the heart of Hanna.

Full circle ethos When you buy a Hanna product, you can be confident it is the result of a fully-integrated research, development and manufacturing process. Unlike many instrumentation companies, Hanna does not subscribe to buying-in a product and simply putting the Hanna name on the meter. We research the technology, design the product and implement each and every stage of production.

Our growth and development owes its success to our full circle ethos.

COD bench meter with bar code reader

The Hanna HI 83214 multiparameter photometer is a compact instrument that allows operators to conduct a complete wastewater analysis using a single meter.

Main benefits

A complete system for wastewater analysis

part no: HI 83214

• Easy COD measurement Pre-calibrated to measure COD levels at three ranges at the touch of a key pad • Outstanding measurement quality An advanced optical system ensures high accuracy measurements across the range • Space saving Neat and compact, the HI 83214 eliminates clutter and saves space in the laboratory

A plus for tight budgets

More about COD Used as a measurement of pollutants, COD is measured on both influent and effluent water in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants to give an indication of the efficiency of the treatment process. This is normally expressed as COD removal - measured as a percentage of the organic matter purified during the cycle.

Its multiparameter facility makes this meter particularly suitable for a wide range of applications and a great plus for operators and organisations working to tight budgets.

On or off-site testing

The HI 83214 bench meter can also be used to measure total ammonia, nitrogen and total reactive phosphorus as well as chemical oxygen demand.

Three measurement ranges

In response, Hanna offers three separate ranges of reagent from which operators can choose.

Hanna COD reagent formulations are based on those specified in recognised international standard methods. They meet the requirements of conformity testing against national and international standards and have been developed in accordance with Standard Methods 5220D, USEPA 10.4 and ISO 15705:2002.

Quick, efficient measurement No need for reagent preparation or glassware cleaning - with Hanna pre-dosed vials, test preparation time is dramatically reduced.

To order, simply select the range most appropriate to your application:

Safe reagents

Low Range (LR): 0 to 150 mg/L

Vials and caps have been designed to avoid accidental reagent spills

Pre-dosed reagents minimise the amount of chemical to be used

Hanna Reagents are available in the following formats:

Robust and durable, the main body of the instrument is machined from a single block of metal. Temperature within the block is carefully controlled using a sophisticated electronic thermostat and can be verified quickly and easily by placing a thermometer in the temperature well provided. The reactor is equipped with 6 pre-defined and 2 user-defined ℃ profiles. •

Dedicated temperature profiles for COD and total phosphorous reactions are preset to 150°C

The total nitrogen analysis temperature is pre-set to 105°C

In adjustable temperature mode (50 to 150°C), the heater can be used for other samples that require different digestion temperatures

The HI 76309 conductivity and temperature probe features a PVC body with a stainless steel four ring design to deliver high accuracy over a broader conductivity range. The four ring construction is designed to ensure the probe is immune to polarisation and fouling for longer periods of time. Combined with either a 1m or 1.5m cable, this probe makes the meter particularly popular for use out in the field.

Single parameter photometers

The Hanna range of single parameter photometers featured offers users a choice of instruments dedicated to the measurement of one chosen parameter. Choose between the standard or low range options for free chlorine or select our combined free and total chlorine photometer, to suit your individual application.

Dedicated chlorine testing

The series features a large dual level LCD display and an advanced optical system together with the renowned Hanna calibration check to optimise working performance.

Measurement cell is designed with larger neck making it easier to add samples and reagent

Positive locking system ensures cuvette is in the same position every time it is placed in the measurement cell

With the Hanna calibration check validation function, users can verify the performance of the meter quickly and easily at any time. Using Hanna NiST traceable standards, it takes just a few moments to check the accuracy of the instrument and to recalibrate as and when necessary.

Standards

All new instruments are factory calibrated at source and the electronic and optical design of the Hanna photometers minimises the need for frequent calibration. The Hanna calibration check further minimises the frequency with which instruments need to be returned to the calibration laboratory for full servicing.

Product uses

Legionella bacteria are spread by water droplet contamination. It is therefore virtually impossible to guarantee that the bacteria will not exist in a water system. But by adopting a rigorous, proactive approach with routine controls, the risk of an outbreak can be minimised.

Temperature Calibration why, what and how A

ll temperature measurement meters require regular calibration and checking to ensure they deliver the high levels of accuracy demanded by health and safety legislation in the UK and EU. Although there is no specified frequency for calibration it is general practice is to carry out an annual calibration and re-certification on the thermometers used in the workplace.

An annual check by a certified calibration laboratory will ensure the readings taken with a digital thermometer can be relied upon. What many people do not realise is that there is a difference in quality between different types of accreditation and the certificates issued.

Hanna Temperature Calibration Lab

F

or ultimate reassurance, the Hanna Temperature Calibration Lab is fully UKAS accredited and runs a comprehensive facility to test, check and calibrate all makes of digital thermometers and sensors to international standards.

Contact us for details on our service and calibration packages. T: 01525 850 855 E: sales@hannainst.co.uk

Did you know ? If your thermometer and sensor have a UKAS certificate, they can be used as a Reference Thermometer to check the accuracy of other thermometers. This is ideal for a company or organisation where multiple thermometers need to be checked.
