“The best interest of the patient is the only interest to be considered, and in order that the sick may have the benefit of advancing knowledge, union of forces is necessary.”
– William J. Mayo, M.D. 1910 Commencement Address, Rush Medical College
Transforming healthcare, together.
Since the Mayo Clinic Care Network was founded in 2011, our priority has been to collaborate with our members. As we look toward the future of healthcare, the value of this network is more apparent than ever, and this collaboration gives us the opportunity to share knowledge, advance quality of care, and leverage new technologies to better serve our communities.
As we navigate 2025, we recognized the immense pressures facing healthcare systems today, such as managing costs while delivering high-quality care, preventing physician burnout, addressing staff shortages, and more.
In response to these evolving challenges, we want to reinforce Mayo Clinic’s dedication to our collaborative efforts and to provide your organization and community the best support and resources possible.
As a member of our network, your organization has gained access to our leading clinical experts, evidence-based best practices, networking opportunities and a public affiliation with a respected and world-renowned brand, Mayo Clinic.
The following report details the services your organization has used, outcomes achieved, and value gained from the network. We look forward to discussing these performance indicators to better understand how this collaboration is adding value to your organization and positively impacting your community.
On behalf of the entire Mayo Clinic Platform team, we are excited to continue collaborating with you to bring expert care and innovative digital health solutions to those who need it most. Together, we will create a healthier world.

eConsults
Providers within the Mayo Clinic Care Network can request an eConsult with a Mayo Clinic physician when they believe additional input will benefit their patient. The eConsult is an electronic, asynchronous consultation intended
to foster physician collaboration and knowledge sharing. eConsults are ideal when you have a specific question that merits a specialist’s opinion but does not require the specialist to interview or examine the patient.
“eConsults are an opportunity for my patients to receive world-class care locally. They don’t have to travel or spend a dime for a phenomenal second opinion. They love it!”
– Michael Farrell, M.D., Oncologist, Middlesex Health
“I really appreciate the relationships formed during Mayo Clinic eBoards sessions. In fact, it is the relationships in this (Cutaneous Oncology) conference that introduced us to our new melanoma and breast surgeon, who was a fellow at Mayo Clinic last year. Thank you to the eBoard teams.”
– Lisa Hamilton, M.D., Surgeon, Minnesota Oncology

AskMayoExpert
Medical professionals within the Mayo Clinic Care Network have access to AskMayoExpert (AME), a point-ofcare tool that offers clinical information on hundreds of medical conditions. This Mayo-vetted information allows providers within the Mayo Clinic Care Network to draw upon the collective knowledge of Mayo Clinic colleagues. AME was initially developed by Mayo Clinic physicians to standardize care
and improve quality across Mayo Clinic. Because AME reflects the collective opinion of Mayo clinicians, its recommendations may differ from other guidelines, and may include specific guidance even where evidence cannot provide clear direction. AME may be used as an educational tool on a variety of medical conditions when making patient care decisions.
“Mayo has been super helpful, especially our relationship manager. Their team is very knowledgeable, quick to respond, and tremendously supportive. Health Care Consulting was a great way for us to get started doing something we’ve never done before. It’s saved us a lot of time as we prepare to deliver an important and beneficial service to our community.”
– Lacey Clark, Director, Cardiovascular, Pulmonary, and Vascular Surgery, and lead, Neuroscience Initiative, Mosaic Life Care

“Mayo Clinic showed us how they set up their clinic, how the ICU is structured, how their rounds are structured. I got to meet the people involved in their LVAD program and got answers to specific questions about postoperative LVADs. Ultimately, I made great connections and established relationships that were very helpful.”
