ATHLETICS ANGLING

Teacher in charge: Mr Naidu
Terms: 2 and 3
Location:
South West District including fresh and salt water.
Training: Students will learn how to manage their equipment and prepare for trips including knowledge of tidal charts.
Other information: Please note there is a membership fee.
Fishing Trips are hosted on weekends once a month during these terms.

Training:
Starts week two of Term 1 and will be held during one lunch time a week, alternating between Tuesday and Thursdays depending on cross country trainings. Trainings days may be altered in the lead up to ICCES athletics in Term 2.

Uniform required: Full sport uniform, running singlets will be provided on the day.
Other information: Please note that these trainings are compulsory for all those participating in GD and ICCES.
BASKETBALL

At College, regardless of skill or experience, students have the opportunity to participate and challenge themselves in basketball to achieve their best for that sport. We emphasise the importance of developing a lifelong commitment to a healthy lifestyle and the ability to work and play co-operatively.

Uniform required: Basketball Uniforms can be purchased at the Uniform Shop. The Uniform shop will have a list of team numbers and can allocate a number if you need one. You will need to organise this before the first game. The Parents’ and Friends’ secondhand uniform shop has a small number of limited sizes available.
CLAY TARGET SHOOTING

HOCKEY

Uniforms:
Players can wear skort/College sport shorts.
Tops are either provided at training or are the College sport shirt that needs a number on the back. (Getting a number can be done at Accurate Clothing and they have a list of the team and the numbers so no one can double up). Players will be told about what top is required when team lists go out.
Socks are football socks; each team has a set sock which will be realised when the teams get announced.
If players are cold, they can wear layers underneath their team top but the number on the back must be visible.

Local comp: College Hockey Field and Pedrina Park Term 2 and Term 3
Games played on Saturday and Sunday. Women / Men may play on Friday evening TBC.

Umpires: Roster will be sent out at the start of the season, but if interested in participating email/teams Miss Waldron.
Extra information: Mouth guards and shin pads are to be worn to all trainings and games. If you can not make it to training, please inform your coach prior to the training day. All players should try and make it to every training and game.
If you are on the umpire roster you are required to go to the game unless you are unable, if that is the case you are to find a replacement or tell someone before the game.
FOOTBALL

Training: Trainings and tryouts for First XVII Football team will commence two weeks before the competition date.
All other levels will have one try out and training a week before.

NETBALL

College enters numerous teams into the Hamilton Netball Association which is open to all students in age groups Year 3-4, Year 5-6, Year 7-8, or Year 9-12, running in Term 4. (Please note, there is no competition Term 1).
Representative squads compete in the Netball Victoria School Championships held in Hamilton at Pedrina Park; one team from each age group (Year 7/8, Year 9/10, Year 11/12).
Tryouts are held for these teams and the selected teams compete for a chance to play the Netball Victoria Championships Finals Day in Melbourne.

Uniform: College uniform items - Zootie, sport shirts, rowing jumpers (if ordered), rowing hats, sport shorts, rugby jumpers and any extra school sport clothing.
SOCCER

SWIMMING HOUSE AFTERNOONS
House afternoons feature four times per year along with a number of lunchtime competitions.
All students are required to represent their house.
Students who participate fully with the program are eligible for house achievement and house colour awards.

• Ensure that any physical contact with another person is appropriate to the situation and necessary for the person’s skill development.
OFFICIALS
• Place the safety and welfare of the athletes above all else.
• Ensure all players are included and can participate, regardless of their race, gender, ability, cultural background, sexuality or religion.
• Be consistent, impartial and objective when making decisions.
• Address unsporting behaviour and promote respect for other players and officials.
ADMINISTRATORS
• Ensure quality supervision and instruction for players.
• Support coaches and officials to improve their skills and competencies.
• Act honestly, in good faith and in the best interests of the sport as a whole.
• Ensure that any information acquired or advantage gained from the position is not used improperly.
• Conduct club responsibilities with due care, competence and diligence.
PARENTS
• Encourage your child to participate, do their best and have fun.
• Focus on your child’s effort and performance, rather than winning or losing.
• Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a competition.
• Help out the coach or officials at training and games, where possible.
• Model appropriate behaviour, including respect for other players and officials.
SPECTATORS
• Respect the effort and performances of players and officials.
• Reject the use of harassment, bullying or violence in any form, whether by other spectators,coaches, officials or athletes.
